Simply wow
These are amazing. Great rolling with epic traction. I replaced the Maxxis Forekaster with this due to constant slipping out on steep climbs...the aggressors grab so well uphill and downhill. I'm old school and run Kenda Nevegals on front (they are tried and true like the BFG KO2 all terrains). These tires are so grippy they did throw sand up so I'm getting a mud guard.

Still Five Stars, Still My Favorite and Still Inexpensive
Terrific traction in very rough ground. Good in dirt and good on rocks. Very tough tread, tough sidewalls. My tires (Maxxis Ardent 2.5 front and Maxxis Aggressor 2.3 on rear. I bought and installed them eight years ago, I only ride them in off-road terrain, and if I washed and used a tire blackener on them, they would look brand new. I cannot imagine buying anything but these tire. I paid $52 per tire eight years ago and they are only $50 today, September 10, 2026.

One of the best tires for the rear
Excellent as a rear tire. I prefer the 2.3" wide over 2.5". 2.3 has much better traction while climbing, but does get loose easier in corners, than the 2.5. The 2.5 has much more rolling resistance, it is wildly noticeable. I just put my 11th Aggressor on my bike, I love this tire.

Great on trails, just as good in the city!
I read a lot of reviews for mountain bike tires and bikes on trails which is of course what should be done, but not a lot of people give reviews for urban/city riding. The Aggressor is an excellent city tire that's very tough and very grippy with a surprisingly low rolling resistance level (I run around 30 psi for city). The rubber itself is noticably thicker, rougher, and tougher to the touch than my Ardent Race 3c MaxxSpeed in the front (which will be replaced by a Minion DHF). Yes this is a heavier tire, but the grip and low RR makes up for the weight. On the trails, as another reviewer stated, it's a great climber. Also grips extremely well in high speed and rocky corners. Braking is very good also, especially on concrete and asphalt. Installation was easy, which is common for Maxxis tires, and has a good fit on 25mm ID rims. The only thing I would suggest with this tire is staying away from riding on the sides of roads because my first Aggressor suffered an unrepairable puncture from a 3 inch long screw with pretty thick threads. Maybe tire plugs would have helped, but those are a temporary fix anyway. To sum it up basically, I'm not going back to my previous XC tires. Ha ha

Nice tire hard to mount
Seems like a great tire so far, but man, what an absolute pain in the butt this was to mount on my rim! I've never had this much trouble getting a tire on.

Great all around mountain tire
Good bike tires are expensive, and you usually get what you pay for. And in this tire you get your money's worth. When I recieved the tire I immediately mounted it tubeless, using some Stans Sealant. The bead set really well. I was on the local single tracks about an hour later. Here where I live in PA, we have a variety of trail conditions and this tire held up well on all of them. Loose shale, mud, packed dirt, loose dirt, coal dirt, rocks, and roots; it performed well on all. There is enough tread to get a good bite, but not so much I noticed any drag when rolling. It climbs great and handles corners well. I currently run this Aggressor EXO on the rear (28.5 psi) and the Maxxis Minion EXO up front (25.5 psi). Both tubeless. I weigh 205 lbs so the pressures will fluctuate depending on your weight. The two together, seem to be the perfect combo. I will update later on the durability of the Aggressor. I expect it to hold up well. Update: Been riding this tire now for 2 months. Still holding up well. No punctures and hardly any wear. Update: I have had this rear tire on for a year now. It still has adequate tread. Note that I ride only about 20 miles a week and rarely does the tire touch asphalt. I remain overly satisfied with this tire.
