Good opener for the money
I bought 4 of these, 2 for the upper wall vents and 2 for two of the five side windows. The only hard part of the install was getting the little hair pin to go through the hole in the piston. My upper vents open out at the top so gravity is working to open them not close them and the springs were not strong enough to pull them closed so I had to devise a system of counter weights. Trial and error, it looks like a weight of 7 pounds on a cord through a pulley pulling each vent closed is working but I will let it run for a couple more days in case I need to go up to 10 pounds.I will buy 3 more for the other side windows after the holiday before the weather gets warmer, and I’ll be adding shade cloth over the roof before summer, but it seems to be working well for now and keeping the greenhouse in the 70s on sunny 60 - 70 degree days. And, despite another commenter, no problem with wind. We had 40 mph gusts today (which is not that high for our part of Texas) and absolutely no concerns.

Works great in our greenhouse!
We installed 5 of these on the lift-up (2) and lift out (3) windows of our shed-attached, lean-to greenhouse. We’ve had them about a month now and they are working great! They automatically open the flap windows wider and wider as the temps in the greenhouse rise during the day. And close them as temps drop in the evening. We installed the heavier duty (for 30 lbs and under)—which installed fairly easily although the instructions were a bit vague—and have had no issues at all. We are very happy with this purchase.

Pneumatic piston lasted almost exactly two years...
OK not bad for the price. The pneumatic piston seized up after almost exactly two years. Oiling it, putting it in the freezer and compressing it, nothing fixed it. My suspicion, corrosion on the inside. New pistons are available as a replacement for 2/3 the cost of new, which is at least an option at less than full price. So for the price, not bad, though one more year would have been more acceptable. Worked great for opening and closing a cold frame. I installed a wireless thermometer and the control was pretty awesome. Left it out both winters, maybe bringing it in would have provided another year of life. Anyway, three stars, works and probably worth the $10-15/year for automatic, no-electricity operation.
