Too many superlatives come to mind about this shampoo
This is such a fantastic shampoo that I don't know where to start. First, which is arguably the most important, is that it doesn’t stink. Like at ALL. You may smell a bit when washing (and that's a maybe), but thay typcial coal tar smell you get with other shampoos after getting out of the shower will not be there. Even when your hair is dry, you will not be able to tell you used a coal tar shampoo. Two, the shampoo actually helps your scalp. It works well, though if your condition is severe you may need additional help with other meds. Make sure you use a bottle that will distribute it directly to your scalp, then lather and leave on for several minutes. I use a bottle that has the pointy thing at the end and put the shampoo in there.Three, it's makes your hair look beautiful! Or is it just me? I just got done telling my husband that this is the best looking my hair has looked in a long time and it's all thanks to this shampoo. Not the expensive ones you buy at Sephora.Four, my hair doesn't get oily quickly after using this. Huge plus! All around a fantastic shampoo, in general, with the added bonus of helping with scalp psoriasis and/or seborrheic dermatitis.

Great dandruff shampoo, a bit runnier than I expected
Personally, I get more dandruff relief from coal tar shampoos. I only use it whenever my head begins to get itchy, maybe one or two times a week. I think it dries my hair out, so you probably wouldn't want to use this daily. The one at Walmart kept going up in price for no reason, so I needed to switch to something more reasonably priced, that specifically has coal tar as the active ingredient. This one fit the bill. The shampoo was contained in a bag when the package came in. Immediately, you could smell the coal tar scent. The shampoo itself is a runny, watery black liquid. I had expected it to be a lot thicker and gel-like. It can be quite annoying to have it seep between your fingers before you get it on your head. The coal tar scent doesn't linger too long, as I give my hair a thorough rinse and put in a conditioner that overtakes the scent anyway.Overall, I like it. Keeps my hair free of dandruff for a few days at a time, does the job at a more reasonable price than the one at Walmart.

Good price, works well, strong smell to be expected
I find this stuff works really well and it's much cheaper than the type I was using before. It does have a thin consistency, but I don't mind it, actually it makes it easier for me to apply. The way I do it, I apply it on my dry scalp using a hair dye applicator bottle with a pointed tip (like you could find in a beauty supply store or box dye kit). Shake the shampoo really well first, and then put the amount you estimate using into the dye applicator bottle. Then I use the pointed tip of the bottle to go down my scalp in rows, much like if you were dying your roots, only it doesn't have to be that precise. Either periodically while applying or after I've applied it all, I massage it around on my scalp to make sure I cover any spots that I might have missed with the bottle. Then I put my hair up in a bun and wait anywhere from 20 or 30 minutes to an hour. After the times up I get in the shower and lather it up and wash it out like normal and follow with a good smelling regular shampoo to try to banish the smell (though I find I can sometimes still smell it faintly anyway). Still, I'll take the faint smell over flakes and sores on my scalp any day, and I haven't found another type of product that works as well as the tar.If it's your first time using this type of product you'll need to build up the amount of time you leave it on your scalp for so that you don't end up irritating your scalp worse. (And obviously there's no point of leaving it on longer if it works well enough at a shorter time). I have very long naturally dry hair, so I don't like to wash it too often, but washing too infrequently causes worse scalp issues. That's why I like the method of leaving it on longer, which seems to work better and allow me to get by with less washing. It does have a strong smell, but I can't count that against it since I suspect it's due to the active ingredient, coal tar, which is providing the desired effect, since all coal tar shampoos I've tried have a similar strong smell.

Works well but some issues
First this type of tube is not ideal for this formula, its very liquidy and will squeeze out ALOT if you are not careful. A bottle with a cone top would be better. You only need Very little of this stuff it foams up really well!. Also for me i notice this is a product that works well over time, meaning, the first day I use it I still have some itching but everyday after the itching goes away and stays away much longer any product I've used in recent years. Be warned it does have a strong smell LOL as do most high percentage cold tar products. It will linger on your hair if you don't use some other sort of conditioner to deten the smell LOL I have locks so I don't condition My hair in the traditional way I use oils. But if I don't think about it, It will leave a smell that you and people very close to you, might notice lol. But it's not horrible at least not to me. I don't care about smell as long as the itch it goes away. This is a great product and I will repurchase.

Works great!
It treats my sebo-psoriasis very well. Yes, it does smell, but it smells like coal tar. What else do you expect when it has coal tar in it? It doesn’t smell nasty at all, just smells like coal tar. It is very liquidy so be careful when opening and pouring it out. Doesn’t dry out my hair at all either!

This stuff is awful!
I have been using T Gel in the past (Amazon’s knockoff) but it was unavailable and I ended up with this foul stuff. There is no body to it is watery and gets everywhere while using it in the shower. TGel has an odor, but this stuff is really terrible. I ended up throwing it away as it is uncontrollable in the shower and also burns my scalp a bit while using it. I do not recommend it and absolutely should be kept away from children as it seems quite potent.
