Excellent choice for Wireless CarPlay
I've used this a few months now and wanted to wait to see how it holds up with regular use. 98% of the time it is quick to boot and connect to the phone. The other 2% it might delay a minute or so, and on occasion I have to reboot the adapter. Also on occasion, Google Maps will hang on the screen, but it eventually finds itself. It would be a slight issue if I were travelling in a place I didn't know and have it happen. It is all a very minor inconvenience and overall very impressed at what this little device can do. It is also the reason I give it four stars instead of five. I would also think that as they continue to improve, a firmware update might eventually resolve these minor issues. also, there is very little lag when using Apple Music or any other app, which I have heard to be an issue with other brands. It's very nice to be able to keep my phone in my pocket when getting in the car and not having a cable laying there to hook up each time, especially on short trips. Fortunately my car has wireless charging, so even when I need to charge the phone, I can stay wireless.I would highly recommend this device if you are looking for a quality wireless CarPlay adapter.

Great budget option for wireless CarPlay
I've been using this for the last couple months. It does what it says. Connection is very quick, and most of the time there is very little delay. On occasion, there will be a 3-4 second delay which can be frustrating (especially for phone calls), but is usually corrected by unplugging the dongle and plugging it back in. Since it connects so fast, this usually isn't an issue. I've experienced the same issue on factory wireless CarPlay systems which are much harder to reset, especially while driving, so I won't take any stars off.I did have to update the firmware before it worked consistently with my Tundra, but it was super easy and the instructions that came with it were pretty well written and made the process simple.Altogether, it was definitely worth the money. Considering some of the other options out there are significantly more expensive, I'd definitely go with this one again.

This is exactly what I wanted!
I was skeptical of these third-party products since I read some reviews (on various models around Amazon including this one) mentioning lag, either mildly-annoying or severe. Well, I saw this below the prices I've usually seen similar units and seeing some people were having success decided to pull the trigger. I figured I wouldn't keep it unless it worked, you know?Well, it got here last night and I excitedly took it out of the box and read the instructions. I decided to not attempt to update its firmware first - figuring that since things can go wrong and there probably isn't a practical way to go back once you update. Anyway the firmware version on mine is clearly from March anyway, so it should be plenty up to date.My car: 2016 Volkswagen GTI with factory CarPlay. My phone: iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 15.4.1I just walked out and plugged this device into the USB-A port in the console. (A USB-C adapter which my car doesn't need was also included free, a nice bonus since those are always useful!) Turned the ignition on and the car prompted me just like I'd connected a new iPhone. I confirmed the prompt and the Carplay box displayed its name on the screen. Went into my bluetooth on my iPhone and chose smartBox-xxxx device. The phone prompted me after a few moments to use Wireless CarPlay which I accepted, and then the Apple UI appeared on my display.Next I played around on the car screen to see how the lag was and I was astonished that I could not tell the difference at all. There was no lag that I could notice. Swiping around seems the same as before and button presses register immediately. [EDIT: Interestingly, while the input and video don’t lag at all, audio has a delay of about 1-1.5 seconds. Not sure why, but that’s how long it takes to respond when starting or pausing my audio (even if I control it on the phone itself). Not that big a tradeoff so I’m ok with it.] I am very happy with this device and will be ordering a second one for the other car.Tip: Pair this with a MagSafe charger (already ordered one) so you can just throw your phone at the dashboard and never have to plug in a cable again! My next tests will be:1. Figuring out the best way to swap between phones when 2 people are in the car. Haven't tried that at all yet, and:2. Evaluating how quick and seamless it is at connecting promptly every time I get into my car.I'll update this review after a couple weeks of use, and maybe add a video to demo the responsiveness.Edit 1: haven’t changed between phones yet, but I have observed that it usually connects within 20 seconds or so of starting the car with no interaction necessary.

Worked Right Out of the Box on my 2018 Kia Niro EV
Most important point in the instructions - try installing it first BEFORE upgrading the software. If you have wired CarPlay this will feel like a significant upgrade for very little money. I love that I can now keep my phone in my pocket or place it on the wireless charging station built into my car. It takes maybe 20 seconds to connect but then stays connected with no problem for as long as I’m in the car.

Good little device!
I’ve been using this product for about a month now and so far it has been great. I am using it on an aftermarket radio in comparison to an actual factory stock carplay radio for reference. My phone connects automatically through bluetooth and it takes a little under/over a minute to fully connect and start running the Carplay settings. So far, I have no complaints and it is so much more convenient connecting to my Carplay hands free than having 50,000 cords laying around in my car.

80/20 in 2022 Ford Maverick
Originally failed to connect 1 out of every 3-4 times I started my truck(Maverick). Had to unplug/replug for it to connect. Also, on the first day I saw the screen turn badly blurry, did the update and have not seen it go blurry again. Other Maverick owners are not having the same problems so I’m still evaluating and watching my return window just in case. It happens more at home in my garage, maybe because my truck is connected to my home Wi-Fi. I’m going to try and “forget” my Wi-Fi and see. Update: you can’t have Wi-Fi connected in your vehicle or phone when this is connected, if so it will disconnect the Wi-Fi anyway. I unpaired my Bluetooth from iphone to truck & truck to iphone, seems to work better. After the update I checked the IP address again and saw a setting that was supposed to be off by default was on(last page of small manual), turned off. So far, so good.

CarPlay in MG ZS EV
Works well had a few initial problems but once I deleted the car from my phone in Bluetooth it connects and works very well. The problem was the car and the dongle both trying to do the same thing at the same time. This does not affect the OEM app for the car in anyway. It connects quickly by the time I have my seatbelt on it’s good to go. MGZSev Trophy.

Excellent product. I bought similar devices before but they were all rubbish. This one works well so far with my Mazda cx-5.

Günstiger wireless CarPlay-Adapter
Installiert in einem (e)Golf 7. Einrichtung war einfach. Plug-and-Play.
