Nice plot, well written but too predictable
The plot is, no doubt, nice and the book is well written but it is just too predictable. Nothing new here. These billionaire books are so similar and this is no different.

I enjoyed this story about Cate (Catherine) Shaffer and Jax Hunter. I enjoyed their journey to them finding their happy ever after.

3 stars
An office romance with him being a billionaire and her being a very focussed, career driven workaholic. The chemistry was well written. I felt like some of the dialogue and scenes didn’t really fit especially some of the dom/ sub stuff. If your after a quick romantic read with a heartwarming hea then this is worth picking up.

Loving the billionaire
Publishing assistant, Cate is spotted by gorgeous billionaire, Jax when he visits to negotiate the aquisition of the business.Playboy Jax has never had a long term relationship, so it's a new thing for him to be so obsessed with Cate, but he must have her, so he devises a plan...

Poor story line
Hmmmm, I don't like giving low scores but I really couldn't connect with this story. To me there wasn't much chemistry between the main characters, particularly in a way that would make a convinced badass batchelor give up his freedom so readily and easily after only a very short period of time. He tells her he loves her way to fast food it to be realistic. Also, the book just seemed to be a combination of the Devil wears Prada and Fifty Shades. Sorry, but it really didn't do it for me.

seriously good read!
Well, what a read...Two extremely strong characters, both control freaks in their own way and for differing reasons neither wanting any relationship to distract them from their purpose - her’s to gain guaranteed financial stability for which she is willing to work herself into the ground at the detriment of her own health, his because he cannot let any woman distract him from the purpose of business and possibly topple his empire. Both characters issues stem from events in their past that have involved their parents. However what we find is that underneath this there is an attraction set to derail them from their strongly held beliefs. She gets under his skin in a way he has never experienced before and despite the fight to get her out his mind it becomes evident he is falling for her in a way he finds hard to accept. He recognises her need (that she cannot acknowledge herself) to take a step back and let go a little but his plans to protect her from herself backfire.Despite the the strong willed nature of both characters - especially Cate who seems to be on a work-addicted path to self destruction - which has sometimes in the past led me to feel frustrated because I want to tell one or both of the characters to just get their act together I didn’t experience this. I enjoyed their dynamic and didn’t feel the antagonism continued for too long. I also liked the fact that when you got to know the characters underneath you find they are both have a soft centre that they have hidden due to their past experiences, each needing the other to let themselves love and be loved. The pace was good and there was plenty of steam and passion - but not too much that it felt like that was all that the story was made up of nor did it feel like it was included just for the sake of it. I sat and read across the course of a day, having to take a break whilst reading but eager to get back to it as soon as possible. This is my first book by this author and it certainly won’t be the last.
