Kingfisher Basher Science: Chemistry: Getting a Big Reaction

We bought this for my son - he is a HUGE fan of this series. Each element or topic gets its own page and the grouping is both intuitive and intelligent. My six year old wants us to read from this (and other Basher Science Books) most nights at bedtime. Of course, he thinks he wants to be a chemist when he grows up so this is definitely in his interest zone, but its a fun, educational read with cute illustrations and written (with a few puns for the parents) from the viewpoint of each idea, item or element. We are working on collecting the series.

Studying chemistry requires learning words you do not use in everyday life, from pipette to chromatography. You can consider this book as anti-rejection medication for those who hate chemistry because they cannot familiarizes themselves with the words used in the subject. Well, chemistry is not about words. It is a complex subject and goes beyond words. However, learning the words used in the subject is a first step to master it.

A colourful appealing fun way to introduce and explain concepts to a child. The little characters jump out of the pages and explanations are informative and sweet!

Com uma didática excelente o livro é todo esquematizado. As figuras trazem grandes informações para a memorização do conteúdo. O livro é todo em inglês mas de fácil entendimento. Grande obra!
