My doggy night light 🐶
Quiet, Effective Indoor Fly & Gnat Control! hiJrg“LARGE” ggvlv“LARGE”. Also a safe night light 💡Living in Florida with backyard chickens and a home that sees its share of fruit flies, gnats, and the occasional moth, I’m always looking for safe, non-chemical ways to keep the indoors bug-free — especially around the kitchen and near my mother’s room. The Safer Home Indoor Plug-In Fly Trap (SH502) has been a fantastic addition!Setup & DesignSuper easy right out of the box. It’s a compact, white plug-in unit that blends nicely into any outlet (looks a bit like a night light). Comes with glue cards already included — just peel the protective film, insert the sticky card, and plug it in. No tools, no mess, and it starts working immediately with its UV LED light.PerformanceThis little trap really pulls in the flying pests. The UV light attracts fruit flies, gnats, house flies, and small moths, and they get stuck on the StickyTech glue card. I placed one in the kitchen and another in a high-traffic area, and within hours I started seeing results. It runs 24/7 quietly with no zapping noise or chemical odors — perfect for indoor use around pets and family. The glue cards hold a surprising number of bugs before needing replacement, and extras are easy to order. It covers a decent area (claimed up to 400 sq ft per unit), and I’ve noticed a big drop in random buzzing insects. Great for those pesky fruit flies that show up near produce or the sink.Pros:• Chemical-free and pet/child-friendly• Very discreet and quiet operation• Effective UV attraction for multiple flying insects• Easy to install and maintain (just swap glue cards)• Doubles as a soft night light• No mess compared to sprays or traditional trapsCons:• Glue cards eventually fill up and need replacing (but that’s expected)• Best for small-to-medium flying insects; larger flies may take longer• Needs to be placed near outlets where bugs are activeThis Safer Home trap is now a staple in my house for keeping things sanitary without harsh chemicals — especially valuable with backyard birds and a multi-generational home. If you’re dealing with indoor flying pests, this is a reliable, low-effort solution I’d buy again without hesitation. Highly recommend for kitchens, pantries, or any indoor space!Perfect for Amazon Vine reviewers or anyone wanting discreet, family-safe insect control.

Easy fix to a big (bug) problem!
Rarely do I feel the need to come back and review a product after several months, but this one is an exception. I bought this specifically for our camper since there is never a shortage of flying pests that manage their way inside. We have used it for 2 weekends of camping and in between camping we use it in our house near our fruit bowl to keep fruit flies down. In our 30 foot camper it kept bugs completely at bay and in our house it has significantly cut down on gnats/fruit flies/etc. we purchased the product in June and now at the end of July we are close to replacing the first backing. I like that it’s non-toxic, easy to install anywhere there’s an outlet, and also provides a very small light that doubles as a night light for us!

Works Well Enough. Won't Get All the Flies, but Gets a Good Amount. Easy to Use
My roommate left the door open for an extended period and left food in the kitchen sink drain while I was on vacation, so surprise, surprise-- we got flies. We also got ants, but that's a different story.Well, I plugged two of these in around the home, and they do work. They smell faintly of vinegar (I think?) and there is a low, purple light by the trap. The sticky part was easy to install, and I have yet to need to replace the trap after a few weeks... but that's also a bit of a problem. It did definitely catch some flies, but it is no panacea for your pest problems. I am still swatting at the small flies near the sink and around the apartment-- though there are considerably fewer of them. It does fit the outlet fine as well without blocking extra outlets, which is always nice.

Great for fungus gnats
I've had fungus gnats in my office. I thought I had the problem solved, and then a big wave of them just erupted. I bought this to try to get them under control. I've been using plain sticky traps in my potted plants and near the fish tank (where they are attracted to the water filter). Those traps would capture a few gnats, maybe two dozen in a day. I plugged in the Safer Home trap and, because I like tracking these things, I started checking it throughout the day and counting trapped gnats.1) I consistently caught 20 gnats per hour in the trap, and 153 at the end of the day. This was about 10-20x more effective than my cheap sticky traps.2) The position mattered a great deal. Putting it low, in the corner, in the dark caught the most gnats. Placing it high in bright light, even near a plant, was only about 15% as effective. I think even in a well-lighted office, placing it in a dark area where the light is comparatively bright is the important factor.3) The trap is sticky, but the gnat needs to really make contact in order to adhere. So sometimes a gnat will just barely alight on the surface and then fly off. Those lost gnats are not a great concern to me, because they will eventually come back and get stuck.4) This trap is totally silent. No zap, no hum, no buzz. The only distraction is that is does emit a UV light that is visible in dark rooms.5) It has no moving parts, and I had no trouble changing the sticky pad. The design is very simple. It does require a wall socket, but it could be repositioned with an extension cord (taking care to keep the sticky trap from resting against a surface).

2026 has been the year of the gnat
For whatever reason, 2026 has been the year of the gnat. I bought this Safer Insect trap with UV LED light and it's catching the tiny flies all through the night. It can't do much during the day when competing with sunlight coming through the windows, but when everyone has gone to bed this catcher works its magic. It worked so well the first two days that we bought a second one for the upstairs hallway. Everyday they reduce the number of gnats and I'm hoping by autumn we won't even have one left. I also bought the "32 Pack Refill Glue Cards" for $8.99 just to have them ready in the future. This insect trap is worth every penny.

Great for Gnats & Noseeums, Burns Out in 6 mths
This plug‑in insect trap is a great little device. It’s super easy to assemble — you just pop in the sticky pad and plug it in. It’s been effective at catching gnats, flies, and no‑see‑ums, which makes it really useful in a Southern climate.I haven’t seen it attract mosquitoes, though, even though we have tons of them here. It seems the light just doesn’t appeal to them the same way.The trap uses sticky pads and gives off a blue illumination, which actually looks pretty cool and adds a nice aesthetic touch. I’ve had several of these, and they typically last about six months before the light stops illuminating, and once the light goes out, it no longer attracts bugs.

Traps them all
We live in a very humid area with a lot of gnats, and this does an excellent job of trapping them. We placed ours in an area that does not have competing light sources. The sticky thing is gross because it gets covered with dead bugs, but at least they are no longer flying around the house! Highly recommend.

just works! a great value and non toxic! use these in RV and home!
These units just work! They are a easy to install, make no sound, last so far for months and are their size allows them to be installed anyway. They have a rotating socket which offers a versatile mount to fie most electrical sockets. Most importantly, they CATCH everything! Mosquitos, flies, gnats and tiny bugs I had never seen until captured by this system. No smell. This is a great value!

Gran lámpara de noche y atrapa mosquitos
Me ha funcionado súper bien, no siempre salva de que piquen los moscos pero eventualmente si los atrapa, gran producto, ya no quiero ninguna otra luz de noche
User
Well worth the money!
We recently had a fly infestation - this thing is magic. So gross (I’ll save you the pic) but it ended up trapping 16 flies on one cartridge. Well worth the money!
User
Excelente.
Moscos de todo tamaño quedan pegados en la placa. Compré también los repuestos, pues cada uno dura 3 semanas.

Catches fruit flies
It works, not as good as I had hoped but it is catching some of the fruit flies. Might be the location!

Buen producto
