Yonsei Korean (Korean Edition)

I studied at Yonsei University and used this book. When I returned to the States I used other books in other classes, but they were nothing compared to the Yonsei ones. Perfect at explaining everything in a clear and concise manner, even people who usually suck at grammar could easily follow along.*** I did notice other low reviews complaining this book doesn't teach the grammar concepts, only quizzing you on them. Well, an inquiring mind might notice that Workbooks usually go with TEXTBOOKS. Get the Yonsei 1 Textbook to go with it l, as they intended lol

I ordered the used versions of this. They came from half priced books. Although they said they were used, they came with the dvds still in the back of the book, having never been opened, and most of the book had little to no writting. The books showed no sign of creases of having been opened or used a lot. I wonder if the person who had them previously even used them at all. I thought at first they had mistakenly sent me a new version untill I managed to see some pencil writing in the book on some of the work book pages, proving to me that it was indeed a used version. Otherwise this very good book, looked just like new or new in my opinion. These books are a bit pricey but I was happy to get an almost new version. On the yonsei website they are listed as being 20,000 won which depending on the conversion rate can be around 15$. We are really getting gouged for prices here but I guess there isnt another option sadly. I also ordered the 1-2 workbook and had a similar experience with the same company.

While the books appear to be fairly high quality, I think it would be rather difficult to learn korean from just these books alone. The books do not have much in the way of explanations of grammar points (as far as I can tell) and somewhat skimpy amounts of definitions. I don't think I would have been able to use these books without the help of my korean speaking friends and other resources.

El libro llegó en el transcurso de una semana y en buen estado. Es muy útil para practicar las estructuras gramaticales, vocabulario y mejorar la lectura. Es una herramienta complementaria al libro Yonsei Korean 1-1

Es de los pocos textos de enseñanza de coreano. Está cuidado, editado por el instituto Yonsei. En la UAM es recomendado.
