I added these to the garage door that is on the side of our house and seldom used. I installed it using some 3” screws instead of the smaller screws that came with it to provide a little extra security. Before, a heavy kick could have broken the jam of the deadbolt easily. Now, that extra 2x4 could endure quite a beating before it would break. It seems very sturdy l, and I’m happy with the purchase.

It might not look good but I am going to paint a beach a beach scene On the 2 by 4 or just paint it camouflage and no one will see it

Worked great, exactly what I needed, easy to install, etc. Would have got all 4 stars if they had spent a penny or 2 more on the included screws and not used the softest, low quality, easily stripped metal. After all, the whole point of these as a security device is they will need to be drilled into something hard/tough. All started to strip halfway in. Once I got a few cents worth of good screws from the local hardware store, worked like a charm. Still worth getting, just buy/use your own screws. Brackets seem to be made of quality metal, no clue why they cheaped out on the screws?
