Not into C# Coding, but still want to Create Games using Unity?
Michael doesn’t assume you know Unity and are able to jump right into Playmaker (Which makes for a good instructor). Instead, he takes the time to get you set up with Unity’s basics before diving into Playmaker. You still need to know your way around Unity’s system to get the most out of Playmaker. With that being tackled, Michael goes over Playmaker’s inner workings with a fine tooth comb and provides good captions to accompany his steps. After getting familiar with Playmaker, you are then walked through a FPS game creating functions and a.i. With Playmaker. So, this is a great start and guide working with the basics of Unity and Playmaker. It would be nice if Michael did a Playmaker tutorial covering other genres such as 2D or 2.5 Games.

I think it's the best Playmaker and Unity tutorial.
So I originally rented this from Amazon to get a feel of the book. But after one night of following his tutorials I was sold and purchased it. Actually, I scrolled passed this book awhile ago because the ratings or lack of ratings made me skeptical. I'm a complete beginner to coding and Unity. My interest was to design a game with minimal to no coding. I had purchased other Unity books and tutorials and even though they claimed they were for beginners, they were not. Well this is. The author explains in detail and step by step on navigating Unity and Playmaker. Following the book was a breeze and I was able to easily soak in the knowledge. Skip this book and you will follow the same path to nowhere like I did.Updated 1/15/18. I am using Unity 2017. Some of the menu items the author refers to have moved. Doing a quick search on what you are looking for on Bing will remedy this. Not the authors fault, these things happen when a program is updated.

Great book! Kelley illustrates his points in both words and pictures. He really knows his stuff! If you don't know how to code but you want to make a game here's your chance. Unity is a great program for aspiring indie game developers. Kelley will show you how to use this to make your dream game for sure! The price might seem steep but this is also a college classroom type book and you're getting more than what you paid for. There's a lot in this book given the size.
