Rain DVD with Nature and Thunder Sounds for Relaxation

My kiddo plays this every night at bedtime, and even plays it in the background when playing with her toys during the day. She likes the different options - music, rain, etc. She said she does wish the sound played with the imagery. It was hard to find anything else like this for the price.

I use this as a screensaver on my bedroom tv. The scenes are wonderful. I just listen to the natural sounds, but music is also available. Multiple settings to choose from. I run it all night at times.

For the most part...I am 80 to 90% happy with the RAIN DVD. I love the ambiance of any type of 'water'...so I also purchased the FLOW (Waterfall) dvd, too. As stated in some of the other reviews...the positives of this dvd is that you get an assortment of ways to play the rain: Light, Medium & Heavy...as well as with, and without, music. Having worked in video production...my only complaint with RAIN is that it IS NOT natural video linked to it's original live natural sound. It's obvious that the video and the sound of the rain has been 'edited & mixed'...as the video sometimes shows very light drops of rain hitting a stream...yet you'll 'hear' the sound of 'loud rain'...which you know, the two don't go together. (And also vice versa...footage of a downpour--with only the sound of a 'light trickle'). And instead of all the slick editing and 'beauty shot crossfades & edit cuts' of various footage... I, personally, would have just preferred more 'static uncut long shots of a heavy downpour'...but then, thats just me. I realise that the producer and editor of this series was probably trying to add as much variety as possible to appeal to different tastes. So, my complaints, are things that i just found to be 'minor annoyances'...and have more to do with my personal tastes, rather than the real quality of the dvd. This dvd, although not perfect...is very good--and I use it almost every day for myself and as part of a type of 'pre-relaxation ritual' for my massage clients coming to my home.

I love this Rain' DVD. I watch it when I need to de-stress and relax. Awesome scenery and several listening options.

I like the DVD and recommend it. As other reviewers pointed out, the sound may not match the video. There is rain and thesky is blue at same time. Matches bigger screens better then small screens.It is about rain and some times it looks artificial. Pleasing to watch and easy to over look the mismatch. Colors are bright and there is plant life with out animals and the subject is rain and the sounds that rain makes.I just now discovered that, since the audio is independent of the video, choose WOODLAND RAIN andthere are birds and thunder. This explains why the audio and video do not match. They are separateand you pick and choose. This works for sound effects for those not looking at the video.Choice of sound does not affect the video. That remains the same.The video and audio are not locked together. Choose your preference of audio. The video will be thesame. At least with one audio, there is blue sky and sound of rain.Larry

I've only listened to a couple tracks, but so far this DVD has turned my workout into a therapeutic, meditational exercise & helped to overcome the grey gloom outside the windows during a northern winter. I read that some people were put off by the sound of the raindrops not matching up to the rate of rainfall shown on screen. I guess if you were sitting & watching the DVD like a movie that might be off putting, but my guess is most people want to listen to/watch this while doing something else & the sound & visual not linking up exactly won't matter. I didn't even notice it. On each track, you have the option of listening to natural pattern rain, heavy rain, medium rain, light rain, or rain with music, and the visual option of tropical or northern rain scenes. Haven't tried the music yet since that's not really why I got it. The visuals move at a good pace, not too fast, not too slow. They include some closeups of dripping berries & leaves, some long scenery shots, & some mid-range shots with birds or insects.

I absolutely love this DVD! You can choose from either "tropical rains" with close-ups on tropical flowers, and monsoon-like rain, or (my favorite), the "northern rains" which feature forest scenery with lakes, rivers, mountains, a covered bridge (plus a lot of stunning autumn colored foliage). I love how you are able to set it to "light rain", "heavy rain" or "woodland rain". It is so relaxing that it will make you go to sleep pretty quickly if you just lie down and watch it for a few minutes. I use it at night to help my mind shut off and just go to sleep, which is very difficult for me. It has helped tremendously! And if you just want to have soothing sounds on in the background during the day while you are working around the house, it's great for that as well. There is also an option to listen to music with or without the rain in the background, if you like listening to soothinig music with the scenery. Overall, it is stunningly beautiful and very well done. I recommend it to anyone who loves nature DVDs!

I absolutely love this dvd. I listen to rain and thunder sounds to fall asleep at night. This gives you the option to listen to beautiful music as well or just rain or rain and thunder combination. The video images are great and add ambiance to the room. I use it everyday. Great dvd. Definitely worth the purchase. Delivery was fast and packaging was great. No problems at all.

This Dvd was beautifully done. The minute you put it on, the scenes that play along with the sounds of the rain and thunder make you feel like you're right there. I found it to be very relaxing and plan to get some more dvd's later on from the series. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax and especially anyone who loves nature.

Bin seit Jahren ein Fan und jedesmal auf's neue begeistert. Die Videos sind wunderschön und man kann zwischen Naturgeräuschen und Musik wählen. Es lässt sich herrlih dabei entspannen ud geniessen. Wer Natur liebt liegt hier richtig.
