Excellent machine
We bought this to try and stop the mould that kept appearing around our window frames and in two corners of the ceiling in our bedroom and en-suite. We kept cleaning it away but, it kept coming back within a few days. Started using this and from day one, no more mould. We were amazed how much water it collects every day. It is easy to move around as it has a big handle on the top, but it is rather heavy (especially when full of water). I would suggest emptying the water before it gets full, otherwise it does fill up to the top of the reservoir and it can be tricky not to spill the water when walking to the sink to empty it. You can not say it is quiet, even on the so called โsilentโ mode, which by the way is not silent. It does make a low noise and there really isnโt much difference between the normal and silent mode. But, saying that, we used it 24/7 when we first got it and we slept through the noise without a problem, even though I am a light sleeper. I donโt think everyone would be able to sleep with it on, and I noticed in the reviews before I bought it, that people mentioned the noise. Of course you could just turn it off when you want to sleep. To sum up, I am absolutely delighted with this machine, it does exactly what it said it would and we are moisture and mould free.

Took 24hr of use before it worked
Some other reviews point to having to leave this on for 24 hr or so before it starts to work. Maybe it was to do with the product not being stored correct in transit but I had this on for almost 24 hr before it collected water. I may have set humidity too high also but then set it to 45% and overnight it almost filled up. In a 24 hr period it took maybe 3-4 litres from the air. I was tempted to send this back as I set it up, left it overnight and was disappointed to see not a drop of water in the container in a room measuring up to 60%. I'm glad I kept it as now its working like a boss and needs emptying twice a day. Its easy to empty but you do have to be careful if its full. Place a bowl beside the dehumidifier and that way you will not spill anything when emptying. This is used to contend with drying clothes inside and makes a big difference. The price is a lot lower than similar models but this unit performs as good as any dehumidifier I have used. It is not quiet, even with the quiet setting its not quite loud but I don't think you'd like to sleep in the same room as it. You could pay a few hundred more but I doubt you'll find a truly silent dehumidifier as they use compressors and they use fans. Both have to make some noise. You can set it to work at a certain humidity, however, the unit will still stay on and the fan will still run. I'd sooner it just turned off when the humidity is right but the unit needs to be able to detect the humidity to work so this unit is an 'always on' unit insomuch as the fan will always be spinning. There is a hose connector to have the unit simply expel water as it takes it out of the air. It claims to take 12 litres a day but unless you have a flood its unlikely you'll need to take that much water out of the atmosphere. To have it run continuous so you do not have to empty the tank, connect your hose and have it drain outside or into a drain indoors. To do this you'll need to raise the unit up a little depending on where your drain is. All dehumidifiers cost a bit to run. I think this is 300W or so and if left on all day it's not that bad as the compressor only comes on when it's taking water from the air. It's the compressor that uses a fair bit of electricity not the fan. Its easy to control, simple to set the humidity level you need (usually 45-50%) and easy to empty once you get used to it. If you live in a damp place, this will soon get the humidity out of the air leaving your home a more comfortable place to live in and more healthy a place. The unit looks pretty modern, if you used dehumidifiers a while back you will see the difference. Its quite compact and does not take up a lot of space. It looks pretty decent and is pleasing on the eye, not taking up a load of space. The unit has small wheels on there, enabling you move it with ease. It is fairly heavy but apart from having to move it up stairs, the wheels do most of the hard work for you. If you're buying this for someone frail then give them a hand moving it into place for them. All in all a good purchase. It does what it ways on the box and removes water from your home. For most people the unit will simply work out what humidity you have and keep it at a level which you tell it to. It may cost more to run the first week or so as it removes all the humidity from your rooms. After that unless you're living in a rain forest, it should not cost that much to run. Like I say, it took 24 hr or so to actually work but its amazing how much humidity this unit finds and removes. Just remember, it uses a filter that needs to be removed and washed every 3 weeks. This is easy to do and takes a few minutes. You simply clean the existing filter, no need to replace. A good product at a very decent price.

Extremely pleased with this.
I purchased this for a friend who has damp issues in their (very old) recently purchased property. A number of their walls have very bad issues with damp/condensation and they are absolutely delighted with how effective this Dehumidifier has been. Please be aware that my friend is aware (as should potential purchasers of this unit) that this is only a short term/temporary solution and a damp specialist has been consulted regarding the chronic/long term damp issues of the property). I chose this Model as it is the ideal size for the property (a fairly small 2 bedroom terraced house) and also for its its list of specifications. Power consumption is respectably low compared to most competitors units for the size (it may require operating for extended periods for severe damp issues) and it is claimed to remove up to approximately 12 litres of water per day (this is quoted as a maximum). There are numerous safety/auto shutdown features built into the unit (if the water container requires emptying for instance) which is important if the unit is left operating for long periods unattended. The unit is fairly easy to move around (for its weight and size) with a sturdy built in carrying handle as it is best operated as close as possible to the location where it it is most needed. Carrying the unit up a staircase should not be a major issue for anyone reasonably physically fit. The unit can be connected to an external drainage source where this is available and can also be used to dry out damp clothing/washing if required. It also filters the air as it operates so should help improve the air quality and slightly reduce the effects of anyone who suffers from Asthma or Hay fever. The one complaint with this unit (as other reviewers have pointed out) is that this is DEFINITELY NOT "silent". It can be heard from at least 20 feet away even in "silent" mode. My friend is unable to sleep with the unit operating but of course some individuals may not be as sensitive or may become accustomed to the steady hum (even when in "silent" mode). It is not "noisy" and may be quieter than some competitors units but it is DEFINITELY NOT "silent". I feel the Manufacturer should alter their wording regarding this as it is "fairly quiet" but NOT "silent" and may be false advertising. It is not a "deal breaker" for my friend however and the unit is left turned off at night. This Dehumidifier has been a godsend and my friend is absolutely delighted with it. The affected areas of damp have been dried out (albeit temporarily) with regular use (the underlying damp issues remain and will require professional attention in the near future) and it has prevented water/damp potentially ruining a recently purchased bed and sofa. The overall comfort factor of the property has been substantially improved with the humidity levels now significantly reduced (the humidity level is shown on the unit as a percentage and independent measuring devices have confirmed the readings are accurate). A very good product.

For the money money you couldn't ask for more. Very Happy!
Bought this little unit because I got fed up with condensation on windows and mould growth on walls behind furniture last year. But I was sceptical that it would be heavy duty enough for our home. I didn't buy a more expensive dehumidifier unit as I intend on making permanent integrated ventilation improvements to our home in the future. This little unit has pulled probably more than 50 litres of water out of our 5 bedroom old stone mill house in the first week. I couldn't believe the rate at which it was filling up, we were emptying it three to four times a day! After 2 weeks it now appears not to be so productive, but presumably this is because it has pulled a fair amount of residual moisture out of the fabric of the building by now? We now have no condensation appearing on our windows at all. I keep it turned on 24 hours a day and was initially moving it in to a different location in the house every day. Now we just keep it plugged in on the upstairs landing, which seems to be just as effective. As others have commented, the "silent" option is mis labelled, its probably a 30% noise reduction I would guess, but we can barely hear it at night with the bedroom door closed. The target relative humidity adjustment is very useful and means the machine cuts in and out to reach the target humidity level, which saves energy. If you haven't encountered the concept of relative humidity before its probably worth reading an online article to understand what this means. We've set ours to a 65% relative humidity target, which has prevented all condensation on windows and has resulted in a very comfortable internal atmosphere during the month of October. I suspect we may need to lower the RH% target as the winter rolls on and the outside air temperature drops to keep condensation from appearing. We haven't used if for drying clothes so can't comment on its efficacy for that purpose. I estimate that it runs for about 50% of the time, costing approximately 60p per day to run on an "Octopus Intelligent" combined electricity rate of 0.25p per kWh. Its a strong recommend from me, well done Inventor!

Amazing machine, Just read the review
Excellent, just ordered my second one in 3 years for somebody as a gift, and I got my brother to buy one and my cousin in the last month, all this model, mine is still powering on after 3 years like it was on day one, there simply incredible for what they do, they dry your washing, I had mine under an over the door airing rack last night for 3 hours connected to a smart plug to monitor my usage costs, it dried all the washing on the airer and the total cost for 3 hours was, a mighty 0.11pence at my cost of electricity, oh and they remove damp from your home for good measure, just simply buy one, bin using that cost guzzling tumble drier and thank this review later ;) Actually on second thoughts, itโs about time the company reached out and offered me an affiliate link for all the business Iโm driving there way :) haha Great machine
