Indestructible! I love the Otter Box phone case. I have dropped my phone dozens of times and the Otter Box has saved it, there's not even a scratch on my phone. It comes with a hard shell that clips onto a second hard shell that covers your screen when you're not using your phone. That second shell has a belt clip which is great. It also come with a soft cover that goes over the main shell. Whenever I upgrade my phone I will definitely get another Otter Box for that phone model. If you want to keep your phone in pristine condition get one of these... you won't regret it.

I drop my phone all the time. All. The. Time. This is the second defender I have had for my S8, and it has protected it the whole time.

If it can survive my husband, it's a good product.

I try to keep my phones for several years, I just dont need the latest and greatest, my galaxy s4 made it 4 years in this case and my galaxy s8 is now 4 years old and is in decent shape thanks to the defender case I am a grounds worker at a college so my phones take a beating couldn't be happier with this case

At first glance, this phone case looked like my old one but a different color. However, with one touch I knew something was off. My old case had a soft rubberized cover that was helpful to stop dropping phone. New cover -- made of a much harder rubber-- feels like phone could more easily slip out of my hand. New cover looked more shallow as well. Once I put new cover on, I laid the old cover and my newly covered phone on a table and found that the new case was not as thick and shorter in height, exposing the curved screen of my Galaxy Gs 8 to possible breakage.

This one came with a belt clip, rubber on the outside and the plastic parts on the inside. I like that it is grippy, but that might be a bad thing for other people. Rubber on the outside is also better for durability sake. My old Otter case had the plastic on the outside and it cracked after a while.

They used to be good quality, all used to be made in the US, they made a big thing about all their kit being made in the US. They actively pointed out the difference in quality to the knock offs that came from China. Then what happened? They made it impossible to work out what was legit and what was not, all because they now also manufacture in China. I note on the report a fake on their website it no longer states look for the made in the USA mark anymore.So final thoughts. These are now overpriced. They are no longer made in the US and they are just as poor quality as the knock offs I find. That's not a scientific result, that's just from using a knock off for a few years (which I didn't know at the time) to using a genuine one from Otterbox themselves. Both lasted the same amount of time. Both broke in the same spots.The only useful part of this is the rubber case keeping the glass away from the surface it sits on. That protects it in a fall. But the plastic surround that goes on first the clips ALWAYS snap, always. Eventually the surround itself snaps in several places and falls apart (normally after a year or two). A few of the rubber covers eventually snap off, again after about a year or two. At this point you can either get a replacement or find something else.They claim they are looking at sustainability, but I don't know how when these cases are all plastic and don't last very long.If they were cheaper then fine, but at this price they are no longer worth it.

Outstanding strength and quality...you get what you pay for. I've dropped my phone numerous times without suffering a single blemish. BUT, you do need a gorilla glass to compliment it. No screen protection included. Hence low stars for the touchscreen rating above as it doesn't save your screen.UPDATE. JULY 2021. I bought this again. The original one lasted 6 weeks shy of 3 years. Really it needed replacing about 6 months ago but it did it's job. My S8 is still pristine. Even with no gorilla glass I have no chips or cracks or scratches. The phone has been dropped on numerous types of surface, even face down. The bumpers do their job well. Like I said, you get what you pay for. This second one cost about £3 more than last time but I bought without hesitation.

Dissapointing for the money. While it has seemingly kept the phone intact after 6 months I removed the case and the phone was quite badly damaged underneath. After 2 years it's worse and the case itself is faring poorly, clips have snapped and the rubber is delaminating And peeling. (I'm not a particularly hard user and have dropped it maybe a dozen times).I would mind it looking crap if it had saved my phone but it's hasn't. And for fourth five quid I expected better in terms of protection given the rubber outercase, allegedly tough plastic skeleton, and foam shockpad inside.

I started using Otterbox Defender cases since the galaxy s7 and this verion for the s8 does not disappoint. I have smashed both an s7 and s8 (both of which did NOT have the case on) but have never damaged a phones while the case was fitted. Its a good tight fit and makes the phone much more grippy compared to the glass which will slide out of your hand (you have been warned) If you want to protect your phone from drops then you can't do any better than this case.... trust me, i have tried and learnt the lesson the hard way. Dont hesitate just buy

Looked around even purchased but finally came back to Otterbox for my S8.My first Otterbox purchased was 4 years back for my iPhone 5s and it looks brand new still today.I have upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S8 and the lack of screen protector made me look elsewhere.Spigen Tough Armour was first and I hated it out of the box .. just seemed so cheap and light.Also tried a Samsung LED Flip case but this didn't offer protection nor was it compatible for use in a car cradle for things such as Google Maps.Stick to what you know and I know Otterbox will keep my S8 as new for the duration of its ownership. I am in the Military and need a rugged case I can rely on.I have added screen protection by way of Alinsea Not Glass Ultra Thin Wet Applied Film.No need to waste hours of research on alternatives stick to Otterbox .. it just works!Apologies to Otterbox for looking elsewhere I am back and it won't happen again!!!
