The lighter portion lit right up after filling it with lighter fluid but the permanent match wick would just smolder and go out. I adjusted the wick and it still wouldn't light. I put a little fluid in the match reservoir and still no luck. Then I looked into the match reservoir with a pen light and noticed there was no wadding and the match reservoir wasn't connected to the reservoir for the lighter portion of the combo. I solved the issue by inserting some wool wadding into the match reservoir, packed it into the bottom, then added fluid and reinserted the match. I pulled the match out again and tried it and it finally worked.
