Make Trouble Hardcover – April 11, 2017

Love John Waters but this book wasn’t really a book it was a greeting card on steroids. You have to be a huge fan to buy this book and even then you’ll go through it in 20 minutes and not be overly impressed as I have been with everything else he’s written.

John Waters is a national treasure. This is his speech. Not long but absolutely pitch perfect. I love it. Word.

This is a graduation speech by John Waters, and it is splendid. I read it at our book group and it was a hit with everyone. I want as many people to read it as possible - so go out and buy it and read it - and keep it to be reread when you start going for safety and getting along when it's not the right thing to do.

I desperately wish John Waters had given the commencement speech at my graduation...then I might actually remember it. I loved reading this. It's a short and lively read and the drawings are adorable.I always thought Hairspray was his most subversive film and none of my friends ever agreed with me. It's nice to know Mr. Waters agrees with me!That type of soul soaring subversion is needed now more than ever!

Five star content, minus a star for Kindle format. I haven't seen a hard copy yet but I bet it's fantastic in that format (great graduation gift). In Kindle format, it's maybe a 5-minute read and neither black nor white backgrounds help visual content translate. I had prepurchased this so if I'd seen how it was, I wouldn't have gotten it in this format.

This was a wonderful find! My copy is also autographed - bonus!! This is the speech John Waters made at the RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) 2015 graduation ceremony - word for word. The speech was refreshing and well received by students, faculty, and parents alike. Witty and ascerbic - perfect for John Waters' fans and RISD students and alumni. Some copies are autographed when purchased from certain book sellers. Look around if you want an autographed copy.

A perfect graduation gift for the creatively disruptive young person afraid that entering the conventional world of work means selling out and betraying one's feistiness. Waters' advice is as applicable to the cubicle drone as it is to the artist. I only wish it were twice as long.

Perhaps a waste of money but I love John Waters and I have all his books. It's nice to read through his speech from that commencement but I'm not sure it was worth. Nice for my coffee table or whatever.

It is a short speech printed in a book in an illustration format (see the images I have attached/uploaded). You can finish reading it in 5 minutes. It is 'anti-social' in a good way and could work as a nice gift for someone in their final year high-school.The copy I received though had bent/worn out edges and a dirty cover.

I mean its John Waters. You should know what you are getting. The book is surprisingly small in size. i guess i should have read the measurements but really it wouldnt have mattered anyways
