Excellent map
This map was perfect for my needs. Not too cluttered and easy to use. The paper seems stain resistant and durable. This is the best map of Japan I have found. It folds nicely and takes up zero space in my backpack. I even had it in my back pocket (Levi's jeans).

This is a map of Japan
We're planning a trip to Japan, so this map is a handy thing to have. I have been able to locate a lot of places that interest me. There are lots of places that I didn't know about, and a lot of interesting sights listed as well. I even see a place where there are snow monsters; I googled snow monsters, now I need to plan a winter vacation to Japan. The map is made of sturdy paper and seems to be waterproof. We'll see, I haven't tried to use it in the rain. I understand that Japan is rainy, I'll use it when it rains and see how the waterproof part holds up, watch this review for updates.I have no idea of the accuracy of this map, I've not traveled to Japan yet. If I get really lost I'll blame it on the map and report back.

Great map
This map is great quality paper and has major and minor routes clearly marked. Holds up in high moisture situations.

Another Great NAT GEO title!
I must confess I’m totally biased. I’m a complete map nerd and I absolutely love Nat Geo. I have so many of their maps and books I can’t even tell you how many there are in my personal collection. If I’m going on a great trip anywhere, I check first to see if there’s a Nat Geo map and/or book title available. Even if out of print, I try hard to get it, even used in poor condition. This Japan map is nicely laid out and has virtually everything I need except a Tokyo detailed city and suburb map. This Japan Nat Geo map clearly shows all cities, major highways and train lines.

Great map good detail well made
Like everything else National Geographic knows how to do things right. We’ve been looking for a map before we went to. Japan went all over to the bookstores went into AAA and everybody else trying to get a map and couldn’t so finally went on Amazon and their National Geographic had one and you could tell just by opening it up how well it was made it had a well plastic covering over it and very detailed and it’s a good size and you can see everything it’s gonna really help out when we go

Nice map
Folded map with a slight protective coating You cannot highlight areas because it will come right off. Used a permanent marker
