Awesome release.
Love this release. It has definitely improved my groupings. I practice at 60 yards now which I couldn't do with my old budget release. Pricey but definitely worth it. It is kind of noisy when fired.

Gets the job done
Very nice high quality release. As expected from a company like Carter that charges almost as much for a release as the price we paid for my son’s bow.

No BS review
This is my 3rd hand held release. Have a Stan onnex resistance release, Scott sigma (which I returned) and the Carter wise choice. Also have a couple wrist releases. This is, by far, my favorite release. It’s honesty the perfect release. I shoot it like a back tension release and my grouping is amazing. Highly recommend it.

Information straight from Carter Enterprises about the new "Wise Choice"
When I received my new release, the new model lacks the locking screw to lock the trigger tension screw, & the instructions refer to a part that no longer exist. The following comments were emailed to me from Carter: That is very confusing and we are sorry about the inconvenience. We updated the release and got rid of the locking screw because it was causing more issues than it was helping. People would overtighten it and strip the screw on a regular basis. You got the new release with the old instructions. The updated release has a tension screw with a nylon patch on it that keeps it from moving freely. Glad to hear that the release is working good and you like it. Sorry for the confusion, let me know if I can be of anymore help.

I now see what all the fuss is about
When I ordered this release I really wanted black. But as I saw more pictures of the blue with black hardware I was kinda hoping I would receive blue. Oh look at that, blue is what I got! This release feels very good in the hand and the break is super crisp. The tension and travel seemed to be perfect right out of the box. Note that the newest wise choice release now have the travel adjust again (screw behind the thumb barrel) which seems to be preferred by most.

Great Thumb Release
I switched from a index finger release to this thumb release. Without it attached to my bow the click is a little loud but when I shoot my bow with it I do not hear it. Fits my hand pretty well. I like the adjustability of the trigger.

Issue right off the bat
First 20 shots it worked fine . Right after that it stopped working. I’d draw my bow back and no matter how I pushed on the barrel ( trigger ) it wouldn’t shoot . Even if I punched it. It works fine and fires when not under tension , but soon as I draw my bow back it won’t fire , then the arrow pops off about 3/4 of the way on my let down . Can anyone help with this issue or do I return the item ? I tried tightening and loosening the different adjustments to no avail

Dude sweet
This release honestly deserves 4.5 stars. I only have one gripe (see below) and it’s really nothing to complain about too much.Pros:Ergonomic. My pinky doesn’t feel pushed out and excluded.Weight. It’s not so light you can’t tell it’s there, but it’s not too heavy either.Thumb knurl. It’s not sandpaper, but it’s not so smooth you don’t get a bite.Mechanisms. The action is smooth. It doesn’t feel gritty when I’m closing the hook. The hook itself butts up flat against the wall, which is also nice because other thumb release hooks are rounded and that gives me an unease that my d-loop could unintentionally pull out (I know it can’t, but that doesn’t ease my wariness.Accuracy? I don’t know the science behind it. Probably related to the surprise shot I’m given for every pull. But my accuracy has increased (have been shooting a trigger release for a long time). For reference, I wear a size 7.5 (m) glove and this release fits my hand perfectly.Cons:I wish all the bolts were either standard or metric rather than a mixture.
