Much stronger than I expected. Think I have a way to weaken a bit.

I mounted 4 on my beach scoop using stainless steel bolts and nuts. Don't snug the bolt and nut too much it will crack the magnets.

I used these on a blackout shade for a back door that'smetal. They work very well! Very strong!

I don't know where these other reviews are coming from. They are not that strong and I can easily pull them apart. Each one holds perhaps one pound of weight, if that is what you want to use it for. Don't let the 90 pound pull fool you. Once your metal object is a quarter inch away from the magnet, it is not going to pull. These are average magnets.UPDATE: I didn't realize that there were washers on the one side. Remove the washers and you get a much better pull and hold. But still not the strength that the other reviews would lead you to believe. Plenty strong for my needs, though.

I needed this for a battery operated infrared sensor that I need to fix to a wall, but that would need to be removed a couple of times a year for battery replacement. I screwed one of the parts to the wall and the other to the sensor's backplate. However, after experimenting with the others in the box, I realized that once connected, it takes a lot of strength to pull them apart. They ship with plastic spacers between them, but once those are out, boy oh boy, they are extremely stuck. I solve my problem by sticking a felt flooring protection chair leg sticker to one of the parts to keep the magnet sufficiently separated. You can buy these felt stickers from hardware stores (or on Amazon I suppose) and they are designed to go on the legs of chairs to protect wooden floors. The sticker is just the right size and shape and the magnet is strong enough to stay affixed but now I can easily pull it apart.There are a number of these monsters in the packet. I only needed one, but it's still good value. I expect I'll find something else that needs holding with them at some point.

They came in a white box, I had to tear the box apart to get the magnets and steel out. There was nothing between the magnet and steel which made it difficult to separate. Now, this is where I mentioned this could be good or bad. I presently have two magnets with the steel washer connected, I can not get them apart. I have tried using tools, my fingers were so sore I could not try it any more. At this time I have two magnets with steel washers that will not come apart. I'm not sure what I will do with these, the magnetism is extremely strong. I was mislead by some of the reviews that made it sound like they were not very strong. I am guessing the magnet would be great to hang tools off of or knives. My objective was to use these to help keep a enclosure closed, if I used them I would not be able to open them again seeing how they have reacted. I do believe these are a good quality product.

These are exactly what they seem to be - they are nice quality - they were a little larger than I needed, so we are switching out for smaller. but seem great!

The item has a tapered joke in the middle which made attaching very easy. I used these to hold a 36” wide by 72” high gate closed. Im using two magnets one on the top and another on the bottom. I will need to add two more, if it blows above 50 kph the gate will blow open.

These magnets are really strong. Just what you look for out of a magnet. Ps> Don’t put your finger in between them!

Almost too strong for my purpose, but offset (hidden) pieces a bit to weaken magnetic force.
