excellent charger and batteries
I bought this because my four-year-old Canon NiMH batteries (2300 mAh) had deteriorated to the point where they would lose most of their charge within a few days. I've used the Maha charger and batteries so far for 6 weeks, and they've worked perfectly. The charger accepts both AA and AAA batteries, but I've used only AA.The Maha MH-C204W charger is very easy to use -- just plug it in, put in the batteries, and wait until the charging light turns green. It charges batteries in less than an hour, and gets a bit warm but not hot. It also has a "rejuvenation" mode which I haven't yet tried. The Maha 2700 mAh batteries are also very good. They're good for hundreds of photos on my old Canon point-and-shoot digital camera (using flash for about 15% of the photos), and they maintain this capacity even 15 days after they're charged. Two points to note:1) If you put in two batteries, you must put both on the left side, or both on the right side. (This is the opposite of my old Canon charger, where the two batteries went into the two edge positions.)2) My one complaint is that the marks indicating the polarity of the batteries are difficult to read (and the manual warns that the wrong polarity can create a fire hazard). I've remedied this by putting stickers on the charger that clearly show the proper polarity.

Restored life to my camera
I was ready to buy a new camera for my most recent trip because the batteries I had (which I thought were supposed to be quite good) would last a day right after they were charged, if that long. I decided to try out this charger/battery combo after reading about it on several battery review websites, and it really did the trick! Under active use, I was able to go 3-4 days without having to swap out batteries, and the rapid charge/trickle charge combination made sure the batteries were always very well charged (batteries are officially "fully charged" at 85% capacity, and this one is known to charge to 98-99%). For reference, my camera is a Nikon Coolpix L12. I haven't personally verified the benefits of the battery refresh feature (full discharge, then recharge) because my old batteries were too internally damaged for it to be of use, but I think its good to have, and can at least keep batteries new for longer. I can assure you that this charger will function on 100-240, 50-60Hz as advertised, as I live in the States, and traveled to Australia, and the charger worked in both locations.

Make sure you get the right thing!
Ok so I ordered this charger because I knew it was the best one around. I have researched it on a number of sites. (start here [...] ) I know what it looks like. Then in the mail I get the "Travel Charger"? That isn't the same thing! I don't know how many other people Accessory Genie sent this travel charger to, but it isn't what you thought it was. Also what is the deal with the batteries? It clearly states that you get 2500 batteries with this (made by PowerEx) they sent me some 2450? That are made from some no name company. So if you got "The Smart and Speedy Travel Charger" you got the wrong thing!

camera ready
My camera eats batteries, but I resisted investing in a battery charger. I am not a techie so have no idea why all of this is as expensive as it is - nor do I know a good charger from a bad one. However, I do know that batteries are not good for the environment and hope to see this technology replaced someday. On the positive side, I am going through far fewer batteries now and hope to make up the cost of my investment; the charger performs as promised.

Hard to tell??
Bought this charger based on ratings and comments on how well it charges NiMH to capacity and its conditioning cycle. It charges fine but I honestly haven't seen much difference in the flash recharge time on my camera (which is why I bought it in the first place). The one negative comment I have is that it only charges batteries in pairs... So when the battery on my MP3 player runs out, I need to waste a charge cycle on another battery to get the MP3 battery charged.

Not impressed
I didn't feel that these batteries and the charger are much of an improvement for my purpose of using it with my Canon camera. This might be a problem of the camera design, but these batteries did not deliver what the online reviews promised.

Perfect batteries for MFLB
Go these for use with the Magic Flight Launch Box. The batteries are perfect for cooking many a trenches and the charger works very fast. If you happen to own a MFLB and you don't have a PA I strongly recommend these to replace the stock batteries. I am higher than a bald eagle's left leg. [7]

You'll get a charge out of this
Fast, fast, fast... batteries charge so quickly, I can be forgetful about pre-charging when I am going to do a photo shoot. It does 4 at once, so if I use two up, there are the other two to use while the first pair recharges...
