Much-improved walkie talkie technology
The innovation in walkie talkie technology is fantastic- there's a speakerphone feature that allows the kids to just push the talk button once and it stays connected, rather than having to hold down the button everytime they talk. These are a little pricier than other walkie talkies I've seen, but this design makes them way more useful for younger kids. My under-4 year old kids were able to quickly figure out how to use them and were able to maintain their conversation. Also, somehow these didn't have that terrible feedback sound when one kid talked into one and held the other in his other hand to listen to himself. They do make fairly loud bug/bird noises, which the kids love but are probably better for outdoor use. They seem fairly sturdy but there were some small pieces that my kids were quickly able to pop off, but I could snap them right back on.

Product is ok- but better for older kids.
I’m sure this product is great however the button sequence seems too much for a toddler

Hard to connect, once connected can be easily reset by curious little hands
My boys (ages 2 & 4) really enjoy these...mostly because of the nature sounds. I find them a little hard to program...but once programmed my 4 yr old doesn't even get the chance to talk to his brother because my 2 yr old pushes one of the leaves and its back to chirping noises....which eventually gets VERY annoying! I wish once programmed there was a "lock" option so it doesn't get reset. The "intercom" type feature is great so they can talk without holding in a button etc. Maybe next year my boys will actually be able to use these together without it constantly being reset

Lots of Fun & Useful Too!
Wow, these GeoSafari® Jr. Walkie Talkies were beyond expectation. My 5 year old son LOVES them. Very easy to use! We have spent the past two days working outside around our acreage and he loved being able to "call" mom while he was working along side dad. He even had grandma talking on them and they had a blast so this is a toy perfect for all ages. I think he will enjoy playing with friends with them as well. I enjoy that if he's in his room I can "call" him to come to the kitchen.A few things I loved about these:Color - First day one of these dropped on the ground and we had to back track to find it. Love the alert sound that helped locate it and once we were close the bight orange and blue were easy to spot on the ground.Sound- My son wears a hearing aid so volume is important. This was loud enough to easily be heard and it worked well with his hearing aid.Clip- There's a clip on the back that makes is super easy to clip onto a pocket for easy access.Durable - These endured being dropped on the ground. Bounced around while he climbed on the swing set. And we were outside when it was wet and muddy and they were easy to wipe off.Range - Never had a problem with these and we tested them across our property which is about 300'. Even though the directions didn't recommend trying to use them through walls they still worked well.We would highly recommend these!

These are a bit complicated for an impatient 3 yr ...
These are a bit complicated for an impatient 3 yr old. You have to:- push a button on the first unit to notify the second you want to talk- the second unit has to respond with a button push within five seconds to have a conversation- you don't have to push a button again until you're ready to end the conversation. Try getting a three yr old to comprehend that when s/he's in another room!!

A great gift for our toddlers, endless fun
We bought these for our two children (4 and 2) for Christmas. They have enjoyed playing with them immensely. The amount of games and adventures have been endless. They have played with them in their play tent, in bed under their covers, we have used them as a family through out our home to communicate and play with the kids. Our son who is younger doesn’t understand the buttons too well and so he needs help “picking up” to communicate, but we don’t mind helping him at all. Once they are connected my son and daughter have fun talking through them. I read a few complaints in the reviews before buying about the chirping, I didn’t find them confusing once I understood how they worked. The kids like the sounds and I think it reminds them of nature / promotes nature imagination play. I love toys and childhood nostalgia so I get excited about my kid’s toys lol. My husband and I took forever deciding on what gifts to get thekids for Christmas and we were very, very happy with the use these walk-in talkies are getting.

Don't connect to each other
We opened these and put brand new batteries in (literally batteries we bought today) and while the walkie talkies turn on and make noises, they do not connect to each other, even from a few feet away. Awful. And now I have a very disappointed child.

Well made, sturdy, easy button to turn to talk and play
Very well made product. Works great for little ones who don’t want or know how to push/release button to speak. I use these with my 2 year old grandson. He enjoys talking on a cellphone, so these are a big hit. Note: product details mentions, but thought I’d mention it here too. There is a button that makes a noise that turns on the automatic feature. If someone (child) pushes that button on theirs it turns speakers off until mashed again. Not a big problem, but for my 2 year old grandson I have to hit the button several times when we are playing with them. However, by the time he’s 3, he should understand the concept.
