Long hours of comfort and lumbar support
These chairs are an amazing bargain at $299 without arms $360 total with arms. We had spent twice the price on gaming "race" chairs which are an over priced gimmick. They did last long but were never comfortable. We spent 200-300 every year on office depot junk that fell apart at least once a year. These Safco chairs give amazing lumbar support and seat cushion is very nice even after hours of sitting. The arms aren't high enough for me but that doesn't degrade the quality and comfort of the chair. If you're talk don't get the arms.

Sadly...this wound up being a lousy chair
I purchased this chair on January 9th and gave it a somewhat favorable review then...and updated with another good review on February 17th. (I'll leave those reviews posted below)But I cannot do the same as of today, August 13. 2013,In the passing months I'd begun to feel like the chair was leaning to one side...and pitched way forward. I tried a few times just rotating the chair base thinking that the wheels had just sunk into the carpet. But in the last month or so I noticed the chair felt like it was leaning forward more and more. So, just now, I rolled it out into the hall and flipped it over to see if I could see if it was bent...or if any parts were loose. It looked ok...so I rolled it into the kitchen where I have a hard floor...and yup...it isn't my imagination...the chair is actually leaning (or pitched) dramatically forward in one direction.I'm a big guy but am WAY, WAY, WAY below the 500 lb limit for this chair so it cannot be from misuse on my part.Obviously this chair is not made well and I would advise you: DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR!!------------First Review January 9, 2013:Having searched recently for the ideal Big and Tall office chair for my 6' 2" LARGE frame has proved a bit elusive.Buying this one meant making a few compromises.First there is no over-all "tilt" ability for this chair. I've only had it a day or so but as I've been testing it...have already missed not being able to "recline" back in it. Also, I would like the seat to be tilted just a little more forward for working. So I'm really missing not being able to have that function. The second issue is that while the seat cushion is 20 1/2"w x 20"d...the "back of the chair" hangs over several inches of the "back of the seat", making it's usable depth about 18 inches. So with my long legs...I feel like I have to be seated a bit forward on the seat rather than on it. For those who are shorter...this obviously will not be a problem. The third issue is that the "seat back" does tilt forward...but oddly...does NOT tilt backwards much more than a vertical 90 degrees.Otherwise...the chair feels VERY sturdy...was VERY easy to assemble...the casters are large and roll smoothly and easily on carpet...the mechanisms to make height and back tilt adjustments feel solid and so far work well...and it is surprising light for such a solid chair.Lastly...this model does not contain arms. They must be purchased separately. (Safco Alday Arm Kit - 3399BL)That's it for now...I'll update this review with my experience with this chair on down the road.---------------------UPDATE: 2-17-2013 Upgrading my review from 3 stars to 4.After about a month of use.So far so good. I'm getting used to not having a tilt function so that is less of an issue for me now.The seat cushion at first seemed a bit hard...but now feels actually pretty good as I've broken it in a bit.The chair has developed a bit of "creaking" as I sit in it though. Not as much of a problem in a home office perhaps...but might be if you have several creaking-away in an office setting.Otherwise, it still feels sturdy and still rolls easily on carpet.Over-all...it's turning out to be a good chair. (August 2013: Sadly no longer the case...this chair was a waste of money)

Don’t look any further
I have tried multiple chairs and had to return them. I am 5’10”, 200 pounded. This chair is the best. Will not flatten out. I invested ours in research, orders, and returns. This is by far, the best choice.

Not a good chair. First of all
Not a good chair. First of all, despite the listing there is no arms. From day one there was a tiny wiggle in the chair, over time, probably a year or two it kept getting worse and worse until the whole top of the chair became detached from the base. The metal that held the post got bent until failure. I'm 6'4" but no where near the 500 lb weight limit of the chair. Also the padding is terrible. The foam is incredibly dense and stiff. Probably would stand up to a really heavy dude, but the molding felt uncomfortable to me. Avoid if you want something that lasts.

Five Stars
Easy to build, but did not come with instructions. Holds up to fat people easily.

... over priced for the quality and I do not recommend it. As a number of reviewers have noted
This chair is over priced for the quality and I do not recommend it. As a number of reviewers have noted, this chair is shown with the OPTIONAL arm rests, which you need to purchase separately. I purchased this as a '24 hour' chair, i.e. something with foam padding sufficient for people who work at their desks for extended periods. As I write this I am 2 hours into my work day and already my butt is aching from a lack of padding. The cushion is hard as a rock and painful to use. This product is crap, and I will be replacing it asap. Do not waste your money.

Holds my big behind!
Really thick cushion. Good, tough fabric. Gas lift does not sink down with time. Back does click a bit when you lean back, but does not loosen.

Good foam
Definitely get what you pay for. Those under $100 chairs seem like such a deal at first, until the foam padding gets softer and softer, until it provides no support at all.

It could get better
Well armed , tough materials but lacks settings for comfort And selling elbow pads separately, makes it pretty expensive .
