For a cheap real, it's great. *by W***E on January 15, 2025* This is one of the cheapest SW surf reel you can find from one of the big three manufacturers who make their own reels (Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma). It's a good reel for what it is and it has its limitations for uses it isn't meant suited for.Many low reviews are about it flexing when used for crab snaring. This isn't the intended use of this reel. Crab snaring requires lots of torque and is notoriously harsh on gear. Reels better suited to crab snaring would be full metal body. This reel has a graphite body.Have used this for a full season for crab snaring from a pier together with the Okuma Crab Snare Special rod. The rod itself is quite stiff and supplemented the flex this reel has.
