clean design, snappy interface and fantastic features
For a while I was trying to find a solution to add Carplay and a backup camera to my weekend vehicle without having to cut the dash for a double din. This vehicle came with a 1.5 din radio from the factory so the only real option is a single din (I installed a Kenwood Excelon radio). This wireless carplay unit solved both issues. What immediately sold me on this product was the ability to not only connect to your phone via bluetooth, but also connect it to your radio. On top of that this has probably the cleanest design and interface out of all of the mobile Carplay units I've seen. For my application I elected to mount it via adhesive backed magnets so that it would be flush to the dashboard. I also hardwired the power connection to a keyed 12 volt source to keep exposed wires to a minimum. Once I got this fully installed and booted up, I was shocked at how easy setup and use was. My phone connects within a second of startup for wireless Carplay and the same for the connection to my Kenwood single din. On top of that all of my Kenwood radio buttons and controls work for this unit. The screen itself is very clear and capacitive meaning that swipe gestures work perfectly. The UI is also snappy and doesn't exhibit any lag whatsoever. Not to mention the OS it runs is very clean and allows for custom boot logos. Another huge benefit is that I haven't noticed any sound degradation compared to just having my phone connected to the Kenwood radio via bluetooth. The backup camera also has a great picture. In closing, this unit gave me a clean install, is removable and offers all of the features I wanted plus more.

Works well in Land Rover
Purchased this for my Land Rover LR4 which is just a few years shy of having CarPlay built in. The aspect ratio of the screen is perfect as it sits on my dash without obstructing the view. As far as CarPlay (haven't used Android Auto) it works as advertised. Works with wireless CarPlay and wired. For wireless it is a bit finicky to get the bluetooth/wifi connected but if you contact the vendor (through amazon) they are able to help. I had trouble connecting bluetooth in my vehicle so I used it over Aux for some time, which worked fairly well but didn't allow for the steering wheel controls. Now I've switched it and have the phone connected by bluetooth to the car and a wireless airplay to the device. This allows full control and phone support with the only problem being that sometimes audio and Siri end up going through the device speaker. Either way, finding the right setup may be a bit tricky depending on the vehicle. So here's my pros and cons for my specific vehicle 2016 Land Rover LR4:Pros:-CarPlay works both wireless and wired.-Sits nicely on the dash with the provided mounting hardware-Keeps me from using my phone while driving (safety)-Sound quality and screen quality are good-Works 90% through phone bluetooth and wireless CarPlay, only sometimes do I have to force my phone to send audio to the bluetoothCons:-On my vehicle I couldn't connect the device to the bluetooth-On my other vehicle (Buick) I connected the device to bluetooth but it didn't recognize it as a phone so phone calls were used the device's built in microphone and weren't treated as a bluetooth phone call (phone icon comes up on vehicle display)-Fan is loud and sometimes makes strange noisesOverall I would like this to be 5 stars but it doesn't work quite as well as I hoped. I really wanted the "dual bluetooth" to work seamlessly for music, Siri, and phone calls but mine didn't quite do that. I still give it 4 because it is a good device and keeps my eyes on the road and off my phone.

Excellent value. Works great, except for the BT audio connection.
The Road Top 8.8 CarPlay display unit is really excellent value for the price- I got a good black friday deal, but even at the standard price it is totally worth it. The mounting hardware is really excellent. I am using the vacuum pad adapter meant for windscreen, on my dashboard, and it still works fine. I needed to keep both screens (my car's original screen, and the Road Top) to be in view since I am still using some of the car's display functions (reverse camera, hybrid energy info, etc.). I do not hear the noise of the fan as some users have reported in earlier reviews. The only issue I am having right now is that the Bluetooth connection for the car's audio, needs to be established again every time I start the car. This is obviously a pain, but I think it may be related to my car's BT system (Lexus RX 450h, 2012). I will try using the Aux cable for Road Top's audio. I am happy with this unit and I highly recommend it. (I have only tried Apple CarPlay, not Android's).

Wanted to like it..
Where to start with this product? I have been researching in-line head units for a while and never pulled the trigger due to cost (1000 plus quoted). I was very excited to purchase this bridge solution for my older Kia Optima without navigation/touchscreen.The installation was a breeze to get the unit into position on my windshield. I ran the power cord along my dash and under passenger door. This install had almost zero cable visibility which I was extremely excited about.I plugged in the unit and it booted up normally as I expected. I was able to pair the road top to my OEM Kia Optima first try. I was stoked because I had read previous issues with rolling pins connecting to the unit.I attempted to utilize the secondary bluetooth reciever to connect to my Pixel 6. The road top wasn't broadcasting the signal for the secondary frequency. I had an old Oneplus with the same issues.Reached out to support. Sent me firmware file. Issues loading due. Back and forth. I attempted several troubleshooting steps without resolution.Decided to keep the keep the unit even though the main functionality of dual bluetooth wasn't available. I decided to utilize AUX connection and wired connection.Worked okay with several disconnects. Went to secure the wiring in my car this evening and smelled something burning. Yep, it was the head unit's plug smoking almost catching fire.I have had nothing but issues with this unit. Some may have a different experience but for me the return has been made. Very disappointed.
