Seamless!
This is a very good urban carry SAK. Its 4-layer design and tool implements make it ideal and will be part of my rotational carry and the weight is not a factor. The Explorer can easily be adapted to the office setting and home when your toolbox is not readily accessible. The practical and sometimes essential magnifying glass makes this an exceptional toolset in addition to the in-line 3-D Philips screwdriver. The number two Phillips screwdriver is sufficiently long which is useful as you can easily get into tight spaces. As with all SAK’s, the knife comes very sharp out of the box and the high quality stainless steel can be easily sharpened. When I initially ordered this, I received the Swiss Army Jetsetter instead – nice but, I was still disappointed. As you can see in the first picture, the package labeling clearly reflects it as the Explorer 91mm. Ultimately the correct knife was sent except it was now the wrong color. The Explorer was ordered with black scales however, it came with traditional red. Needless to say, this was another drawback. Nonetheless, the setback was corrected by installing black plus scales made by SwissClip (a plastic scale similar to the cellidor but, with a convenient pocket carry clip). In addition to the typical toothpick and tweezers slot, there is an addition one for the pressurized pen. A micro screwdriver was also added the sits upon the corkscrew. Given their versatility, all Swiss Army knives makes them an ideal companion for your everyday carry needs.

My favorite Swiss army knife.
I can go on about the amazing design, build quality, functionality, value, size ease of use, etc... but everyone knows that's what a Swiss army knife is. To me this is my favorite still being made model because of the magnifying glass. It's extremely useful. If you wear glasses you WILL use this one tool very often, that it comes with a variety of other high quality tools in a little package is just extra.

Great traditional product
If you liked your last one you’ll like this too. Identical look and quality.

Excellent knife, been carrying these for 50+ years
This iteration of the Victorinox Swiss Army knives is my favorite because of the Phillips screwdriver that points forward and not at a 90 degree angle.I use the scissors and the large knife blade constantly, the cork screw and Phillips screwdriver regularly. The little plastic insert in the corkscrew does not come with the knife. It’s a miniature slot screwdriver that comes in handy for sunglasses and regular glasses.I don’t use the magnifying glass much, wish it were a small nail file.Overall, Victorinox makes the best Swiss Army knife on the market. It’s easy to sharpen and very durable. I beat these knives daily and they last about 5 years before I replace them. Hope that helps!

great knife
This is the third of this model I have. The first was purchase 50 years ago and I still use it though it has been abused/dropped and the red plastic is chipped. The second I got 25 years ago, had a black handle, was carried every day as my pocket tool kit, and misplaced a couple of weeks ago while camping. So I grabbed this new one as soon as I got back.

Something every man should own!
I can't count the amount of times I have reached for this knife in my lifetime. Swiss made, built like a tank and beautiful at the same time. A rite of passage from boyhood to manhood when you give your son's one of these in my opinion. They will have it forever and I promise you at some point in their life they will use it and think to themselves "thanks dad for giving me such a handy tool"!

It wasn't black
The item as advertised was a Victorinox Explorer with black scales. The one that arrived had the original red scales.Still, the Explorer is one of the best Swiss army knives on the market for the non-outdoorsman — no matter what color it is.

Best combination of tools in a Swiss Army knife. And Yes, I am an Eagle Scout, since 1972.
I have owned and carried a Swiss Army knife for 45 plus years. And yes, I am an Eagle Scout.Of all the models, the Explorer has the best combination of tools, believe me, I have used several models over the years. Larger knives with more tools are nice, but become harder and harder to carry. Smaller knives lack essential tools. All of the tools in the Explorer are useful, except for one: The Hook. The Hook, on the bottom of the knife, is designed to aid in carrying a package, by carrying the string the package is wrapped in. Since the Post Office has not even allowed string wrapped packages for 40+ years, it's time to replace the hook. A nail file is the one tool that I would like to have that this is missing on the Explorer (hint, hint) . The magnifying glass, BTW, is more useful than you would think. It's got a good magnification for daily use, and can be used to start a fire in an emergency. And the in-line Phillips screwdriver is VASTLY superior to the 90 degree one found on most models. But other than that, it's a great knife. Do yourself a favor when you order this knife, order 2 or possibly 4 minor things with it. First, Swiss Army makes a little jewelers screwdriver that fits inside the corkscrew-if you wear glasses, or know anyone who does, buy the screwdriver-you will be a hero one day.Second, you are likely to lose the toothpick or tweezers at some point, and ordering a set I think of 5 (they have used the same design for 50 years, so they will be good pretty much forever) replacements will eliminate that annoyance down the road. The same applies to the spring inside the scissors. After 10 years or so, the spring will either come shooting out and get lost or will break, and again, having a replacement on hand makes life less stressful. I believe the springs come in pairs, or maybe 3 to a pack. Pretty easy to replace.Anyway, as I said, best combination of tools in a Swiss Army knife. Mine is my constant companion.
