A must read for any fan!!
I absolutely loved this book. I am someone who loses focus easily when reading so it usually takes a while to finish a book but I finished this book in about 2 days. I am from the US so I never really heard of McFly growing up but several months ago I discovered their music and fell in love. I had seen Tom Fletcher's viral videos before online but never looked into the band much until I was rewatching the Wedding Speech a couple months ago and was in tears because of how sweet it is. I decided to look up the band and then discovered their music. I had about 10+ years to catch up on so I bought a bunch of their songs, watched old videos and learned as much as I could. This book was the icing on the cake, it filled in all the gaps and then some! It is so well written, I was laughing and crying, and dreading getting to the end of the book because I didn't want it to be over (I really hope in a few more years they write another book of some sort). And I must say McFly has probably the most incredible story of how the band was formed. It was really a perfect storm of so many little moments that had to happen in order to create the McFly we know and love READ THIS BOOK!!!

Obviously it's All About Them (see what I did there?)
Growing up in the U.S., I hadn't heard too much about McFly especially since they're not exactly tabloid mainstays, but I discovered and instantly became a fan of the band after seeing some of Tom Fletcher's YouTube videos.I wasn't too familiar with the band's origins, so I enjoyed hearing about the process through which the band came to be. Granted, all four member's write through the same voice, so I don't doubt that a ghost writer was used at some point, but still it has a very conversational tone and is definitely cheeky and self-deprecating.I appreciated their honesty in sharing their ups and downs as a group, rather than masking names or trying to be salacious in name dropping. If you are a fan of the band, it's a quick and easy read.

Page turner!!
It's fantastic because even if you are a McFly fan for years, there are things you can't possibly imagine. I really didn't have high expectations, thought it would have just a couple of uninteresting facts...I couldn't be more wrong. After you read it, you get a feeling that the guys are really just like anyone else. They've had happy, funny, glamorous, dangerous and really really serious and sad moments in their lifetime as a band. It's amazing that they decided to share so much with everybody. That's what makes them so....unique...so....McFly!It makes you laugh, smile, cry and mainly, understand so much about McFly and the decisions they made throughout their carreer. It is also great that the whole book is narrated by them. You can visualize each one saying what they are saying.I recommend it to any McFly fan :)

A good look at the real McFly
What an eye opener! I couldn't believe my eyes at some of the things I was reading about these four lads! It was like reading a story about your best friend and then learning all of this dark stuff that they never told you about! But to see the truth behind the smiles, I've grown even more inspired by this band! Which I didn't think could happen. Well done lads, well done.4 stars because the book does get a bit repetitive, but otherwise, it's like listening to a someone tell you a story.

Read it NOW!
This book is incredibly entertaining, and a must read for all McFly fans. I finished it in two days, I couldn't put it down! It has all the inside info about the beginning stages of the band, which is pretty cool, as well as the guys' childhood stories. Lots of funny anecdotes and even some of their own personal struggles are documented in this book. Of course, it talks about the music and I found myself comforted and hopeful for what's to come in their future as a band and particularly about the direction of their next studio album, which promises to be a return to true McFly form... AKA AWESOME! McFly fans, you will absolutely love this.

Deep, funny, amazing
I am so thankful with them for sharing such personal and private stories about their career and themselves. Theyre being 100% honest and i love that, because that shows they really want their fans to know them for who they are.Ive cried, laughed and made shock faces while reading it.I completely recommend it, even if youre not a fan, specially if you're starting a band and wanna make it big, its like a huge guide on do's and dont's and sticking together and staying strong through it all.Read it and have ready your McFly playlist...

Book Review: Unsaid Things…Our Story by McFly
This autobiography tells the tell of McFly. Written in an interview style, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter start in their childhood’s and proceed chronologically through the decade that the band has been together (2003-2013).It’s one of the most honest autobiographies I’ve ever read. It tells-all (well almost!) about the band including: the band nearly ending before it had began because of weed, Tom’s struggles with his mental health and Dougie’s battle with addiction (and how he got into recovery). The good, the bad and the ugly (not that there’s any ugly) it’s all in Unsaid Things…Our Story. As is how the band celebrated and enjoyed their successes and learned from their failures. In Unsaid Things…Our Story McFly acknowledge the support from their fans and thank them. There was a suitable amount of glossy photo pages, but more would always be welcome with these attractive guys.People of my sort of age (late twenties) will get all their references. A good example is growing up we all watched Back to the Future. This film had a huge influence in how the band got it’s name. Want to know more? Buy Unsaid Things…Our Story and find out.In Unsaid Things…Our Story McFly fans will learn when they wrote which songs, what those songs were originally about and what they feel about their past albums now – looking back.I enjoyed reading this honest and open book about McFly’s ten year journey. Here’s to the next decade and beyond McFly!

McBrilliant
It's fair to say that McFly/McBusted fans will get the most enjoyment out of this book, but anyone who has an interest in music and/or 'celebrity' (urgh) will learn a lot from this book. The level of honesty from the boys is what makes this stand out from other biographies out there. Between them they've been through mental health issues, addiction, and a LOT of women (Danny Jones, I'm particularly looking at you as I type this last bit). They've also had a ridiculous amount of hits all over the world and have survived ten years at the top of their field. They write songs for other artists. They produce music. They've done (and won) reality TV shows. Tom is a youtube sensation. They've even been played in space for crying out loud. The boys take it in turns to tell the McFly story throughout Unsaid Things which makes for a pacey read and I defy anyone not to laugh as they read it. Fans have always known they were exceptionally funny and this book just proves it. Honestly, for a band that is made up of four very different guys (I want to say boys, but they are men now...so I'll stick with guys as a happy medium) they are all hugely entertaining-different enough to have their own identities but similar enough to share the same daft humour and wordplay. I was close to tears at numerous points whilst reading. Each member has gone through their own difficult times and the pride that I get as a fan seeing how genuinely happy they appear to be at the moment is immense. On a personal level I was especially touched by Tom's descriptions of depression. This is something I have gone through, and will probably always be going through, myself and his descriptions of the feelings he experienced really resonated. The 'alien at the window' is something I can understand- my own depression and anxiety is worse at night- and the fear of bed because of the emotions you know are going to haunt you is something I can empathise with completely. Reading Unsaid Things has made me even more excited for the McBusted tour and I cannot wait to be at the Sheffield gig on 19th May jumping around like a loon. And Danny, for what it's worth I can forgive you your playboy antics. Even though I wish I had been part of them ;)

Wonderful
I read this because I have a lot of Tom Fletcher books and it came up on my recommended list. I'm way too old to be a McFly fan but who could forget Harry on Strictly and Dougie on Celebrity. Also I somehow managed to see McBusted play a few years back - they had all seemed a nice bunch of lads.I love the way this book is written. All of them chipping in all the way thru. It's well written, witty and feels honest. Well done lads.

Very Interesting Read
I had been a big fan of McFly back in the glory days of 2004/2005/2006 when things were at their peak. Like others have said on here, I thought I knew everything about them, especially Dougie who at the time was my complete OBSESSION, I lived and breathed everything DOUGIE POYNTER..... but how little I really knew. Now we're all 'grown up' it's amazing to understand the truth about what went on within the band house, quite shocking in some ways but not so much. Some stuff about their personalities - especially Tom - was quite surprising but in a good way and it made the whole band much more human to read about the flaws and the bad times and the struggles rather than the picture-perfect showbiz world that we were shown then.I like how the book is not a great big diss-fest on others, its just a fair overview on their own lives. For example, Dougie could have easily had a big swipe at Frankie but took the high ground. It's not written for sensationalism, just honesty.I bought this book intending to read it slowly but finished it in one sitting- just very gripping read that I could not put down. I am currently suffering from some crippling depression and really wanted to read about how Tom and Dougie had coped with this. I am glad they pulled through and could really identify with the thoughts and feelings they shared on the subject. I'm so glad to see Dougie and his happy ending.. never more deserved. There's lots more I could say but to spare the waffle, I will just highly recommend this book and have only knocked 1 star off because from reading this I decided that Harry isn't very interesting and his parts were a bit long winded and dull. Sorry Harry.

Not just for hard core fans.
I was never a Mcfly fan, pretty firmly sat in the camp that believed they were just another manufactured boy band who probably didn't even play their own instruments. Fast forward a few years through Strictly, I'm a Celeb and after being informed (by a reliable source) that they do indeed play their own instruments (and write their songs) I was starting to see them in a different light.I love reading autobiographies and this one didn't disappoint. It was well written and flowed effortlessly between each band members recollection of past events. It was really interesting to see how things came together, it seemed like everything was meant to be or as George Mcfly would say it was their density.I could not put this book down. It grabbed my attention from the start and held it right to the last word. There are amazing highs and heart wrenching lows and I found myself laughing out loud and even shedding a tear a couple of times. I probably would have had a full on sob, but crying in public is not a good look so I held it in!This is a must read for fans, but I would definitely recommend it to non fans as well. I don't think they held much if anything back. Mcfly have had their ups and downs, a rollercoaster as they put it, but they remain the best of friends through it all and you can really feel that when you're reading.I now find myself having a bit of a Mcfly crush, Tom sealing the deal with his wedding speech on YouTube! Boys you have gained a new fan. Looking forward to hearing some of the new material.
