Worked great - build several cabinet doors
This Freud set was purchased to build some cabinet doors as I was copying some existing cabinet doors in order to make new cabinets for an expanded kitchen. The set worked fine, even to the point that I drove these rail and stile bits with a slightly underpowered (1.75hp) router and used an external speed controller. Next time that I use them I hope to be using a more powerful router. These bits worked fine.

No directions
It's a great idea. It does not come with any directions on how to adjust for different panel thicknesses. I was finally able to get some direction on you-tube. Seems like after spending the money that it would tell you how to use it. The bearing on one of the bits will not come off which is necessary to adjust the groove thickness. Sadly I am 8 days past the Amazon return window. I have contacted Freud and they said that they would exchange it.

Good value
These router bits cost more that others but they are well worth the extra cost. They came razor sharp and after making the frames for over 80 doors and panels, they still cut without needing sanding. I have tried less expensive bits from other manufacturers but they seem to dull easily and while cheaper, don't provide the long-term value that the Freud bits.

Works well
I used this to build oversize shutter doors. I made the tongue 1 1/4" long for the added strength. They came out great and I am confident the extended tongue will keep them aligned.

Freud bits make smooth, smooth, smooth cuts.
Don't baby them by pushing the workpiece slowly. Push it on thru there with moderate force, it is a cutting tool, not an abrasion tool. it will cut and cut smooth. Took some time to make adjustment first set up to match plywood panel thickness to cutters and to each other. Directions were not very good, they explain what you already know but leave hidden details to you to take aport and reason out on your own. I suppose you could call their tech help. I just disassembled till I understood it. But the bits are super good quality.

Doesn’t work properly
Stile bit is not machined correctly so will not fit into the rail cut. I checked some of my older Freud bits and it is about 1/16 off.

Would not dream of making cabinet doors without the adjustable panel bits now.
Awesome bits for making doors. The adjustable panel thickness is a must have for making professional looking cabinets

Rail bit cannot be adjusted to accommodate undersized 1/4” oak plywood.
I’m surprised at Freud with this product. They point out that the bits can accommodate 1/4” plywood panels which, as we know, is not quarter inch but less (5.2 mm these days). The stile bit can do this. However the rail bit cannot. The bearing in the rail bit is 7mm in height preventing the cut to be reduced below this. The result is a cut on the rails that is much more than 5.2 mm which is the thickness of today’s 1/4” plywood. That’s why I purchased this product. I need a bit with a guide bearing that can accommodate undersized oak plywood panels. I went on Amazon looking for 10 x 22 x 5 mm bearings. Very hard to find these dimensions and what I did see had very long delivery times. So I turned to my CNC milling machine a made my own 22 x 10 x 5 mm bushing to replace the 7 mm thick bearings. Not ideal, but it works. By the way, I am a big fan of Freud products. But this one surprised me.
