These come preassembled and do a great job of keeping a 100 gallon stock tank for an 8 year old peninsula cooter. Turtles are notoriously dirty and it’s not easy to keep his tank clean. Rinse well prior to use! I have 2 filters and I change one of the filters weekly, alternating and rinsing the one I don’t change, very well. These filters make it so much easier to keep his tank crystal clear!!

Love this product but dinging it a star bc Amazon will absolutely never ship this safely. They can waste boxes on indestructible things and then throw this fragile item in a shipping bag so all you receive is a bag coated in carbon and no usable product. Stopped buying online.

Why They Work True "Ready to Use": These come fully assembled. As someone who juggles a busy work schedule and a full house, not having to mess with loose carbon and clips is a huge time-saver. Water Clarity: The dual-sided mesh is surprisingly dense. It catches all the fine debris, and the integrated carbon does a great job of neutralizing those typical "fish tank" odors. A Note on My Own "User Error" If you’re noticing that your filter is being louder than a "Whisper" or if the flow seems weak, check your water level! I made the mistake of letting the water line get a bit too low. This is our new go to filter for your 55 gal tank. Our tank filter system uses two of these in it. We replace one filter each weekend alternating between the left and right filter. So left filter gets replaced this weekend and the right filter gets replaced next weekend and so on. These come with small bags of carbon too. 8 bags of carbon for 8 filters. The plastic holder that comes with this is simple to put in/out of the filter. When it's time to change the filter, you remove the filter from the plastic holder (over a trash can) and shake off the carbon in the trash can/bag. Then slide a new filter over the plastic holder, then open a bag of carbon with scissors and pour the tiny carbon pieces inside the filter (while it is already on the plastic holder). Then you fold over the top of the plastic holder and put the clip on it, which closes the top of the filter and holds it tightly on the plastic holder/frame. Slide it back in the water filter system and done. We will continue to buy these all the time. The carbon and the filter combined continue to keep our tank sparkling clear. Of course we still have to vacuum the bottom and clean the glass, but wow the water is clear.

Sirve como repuesto, solo es remplazar el cartucho cuando esté se desgasta. Funciona bien pero creo que modificaré el filtro ya que el agua no se ve tan cristalina como quisiera pero creo que es problema del tanque y no del filtro en si, lo enjuague antes de usar pero aún así soltó con el uso soltó algunas partículas de carbón activado pero es sencillo retirarlas. Si se necesitase lo volvería a comprar.
