8 inch 18W Ultra Thin Square Recessed Light with J-Box, 6000K Daylight, 150W Equivalent, No-Dimmable Ceiling Light

I ordered this a while ago but just installed it. WOW! What a great light. This light only uses 18 watts, compared to the canned light I had installed before, it was using 120 watts. That is cutting my electricity usage by 80%.The best part is it puts out so much more white light than the canned light. I installed it over my sink in my kitchen much nicer than the canned light. The other thing to note is It can be installed right under a stud if needed. The installation was easy. I cut a hole 8 inches by 8 inches. connected the wires and put the LED connection and regulator in the junction box, Then I connected the light to the quick connect, popped it in the ceiling and the springs held it in place.You will need to buy your wire nuts and make the electrical connection.Do consult your local electrical codes and do not mess with electricity if you are not experienced with wiring or comfortable. Make sure your power is off when you are making your connections.The pictures were taken during the day so not the best pics but I will update them. Also, I would rate the ease of installation on this as a 3 on a difficult scale out of 10. Very easy to install

The transformers on these last about 1-2 years. I wish I could find a similar product with a better transformer or perhaps need to look into a better transformer I can use instead. I have replaced so many of these and even had some sent on warranty. I don’t have the space for anything but flat LED lights, so stuck atm with these.I guess I have to just understand I need to get new ones each 1-2 years.

I got this light June 1, 2022, installed it soon after, and it gets about 3 hours of usage per day. On 11/8/2022 it started blinking about 1 to 2 times per second. I turned it off for an hour and as soon as I turned it on it started blinking again, so it wasn't just overheated.I had purchased a second light in June so that I would have a spare on hand if the first one failed, I just didn't think it would fail so soon. It Turns out that the LED Light is okay, but the driver is bad. I replace both the light and driver to get a fresh start, and then I took the driver circuit board out of the electrical box it's built into to see if the failed component is obvious.The photos show what appears to be a typical LED driver. A resister connected to the black hot AC wire feeds a full-wave rectifier that's filtered by a 22 UF electrolytic capacitor rated for 400 volts and temperatures up to 105 °C. The high voltage DC then powers a high frequency oscillator circuit that feeds the primary winding of the transformer with the secondary winding feeding another full-wave rectifier producing low voltage DC that's filtered by the 47 UF electrolytic capacitor rated for 100 volts and temperatures up to 105 °C, and then powers the LED light. I don't see any burnt, leaking, or cracked components. I have a whole house surge suppressor and many other LED lights that have run for much longer, so I don't think is was damaged by a power surge. I'm hoping it's just a rare component failure, and I like this light so much that I just ordered another one to have as a spare.

I wanted to replace the shop lights in my garage with something equally as bright. This light has been perfect.Install was easy Just cut an 11" Square and hold the clips back while inserting it into ceiling. The clips hold it very securely. Wiring was easy as well however I do agree with another reviewer that the wire length's could be just a little bit longer.The light is very bright and the color seems slightly whiter than other 3000k but not blue at all and very pleasing on the eyes.After installing in my garage I will be ordering one to replace the light over my kitchen sink which it should be perfect for as well. Great item with great customer support. When I had a question it was answered in 15 minutes!

The media could not be loaded. The lights are pretty nice The transformers that come with the lights are absolutely cheap and horrible constantly burning out which makes the light useless. You can email the company they never respond to emails. Then your left searching Amazon for a brand new 48 volt DC transformer so you can use your light. Extremely cheap and not an installation for anyone expecting it to last more than a year

we installed this over our kitchen sink and we literally have nicknamed it “the sun” it’s so bright lol. fits great and decent price definetly get it if you like bright lights

You have to change them every 2 years...

I bought this for a recessed porch light. I wanted the brightest they made to light up my driveway and yard. This worked out perfectly for my application. I would not put this particular light in a location that the light could get wet, it is not water proof. My area gets no water at all, so it was a perfect fit. Super easy to install. I love the spring-loaded clips to hold the light in place. Wiring it in was a piece of cake. Definitely worth the money. A real energy saver too. I highly recommend this light.
