Simple and Fun Recipes
Would highly recommend to novice baker's or those who have minimal time to cook. The book is well written and clear with directions.

Quick recipes
The idea of three ingredients was a major reason for purchasing this book. The first recipe we tried ...well let's say...no one will eat, and will probably be tossed in the trash! I hope the next is better!

Not the Same as on Instagram.
I had seen and used quite a few recipes from Fitwaffle's Instagram. It seemed to me that this book was going to be a collection of those recipes and was purported as such. Of the recipes I had seen on her page. While there can be found one or two of those (Mini Cheesecakes, Blondies that is it.). I would have liked a convenient way to keep track of the recipes showcased there.

Concern for fake recipes!
Fitwaffle came up on my YouTube shorts recommended recently. I wasn't familiar with her from insta. I am, however, VERY familiar with the snappy, short, satisfying, low quality, fake baking of YouTube. Channels like 'So Yummy', '5 minute crafts', even 'tasty ' sometimes.I have seen a few 4/5 start reviews saying they were sure their recipe failed due to user error and this book could be a good gift for a novice or beginner baker. I can not express strongly enough how misguided those statements are.I am by no means a professional baker. I enjoy baking as a hobby and have produced many delectable treats. I've made everything from homemade baklava with from scratch phyllo dough, to Nutella bread, to creme brulee to baked Alaska and so on. I am confident in my baking skills enough to know many of the recipes in this book would never work. Many of her recipes make no sense at all.The recipe which sent me down this rabbit hole was her '5 ingredient chocolate cookies'. I don't remember her saying whether they were supposed to taste like brownies but she did say they were the 'chewiest, easiest' chocolate cookie ever and the thumbnail made it look like a brownie brittle cookie.Anyway she used like a 5:1 sugar to cocoa powder ratio. She used powdered sugar instead of regular; I'm not sure for what reason. She used 3 egg whites but didn't whip them, just dumped them into the bowl as if they were used the same as the expected 4 or so egg yolks which would typically be in a standard recipe. Then salt and chocolate chips.Fine I guess but how did her batter look so wet when the only liquid was 3 egg whites? How do the cookies keep from drying out when there is no fat? How do they keep together when there is no gluten(from flour because they're flourless) and no egg yolks? Also, HOW THE HECK ARE THEY CHEWY WHEN THERE'S NO GLUTEN BECAUSE THERE'S NO FLOUR? The chewiness of a brownie comes a lot from the gluten in the flour.Tl;dr- just because a recipe video looks aesthetic doesn't mean it's going to taste any good or that the person knows what they're doing or is even trying to make anything edible. Sometimes stuff just looks really good on camera. And if you actually want to buy a really nice baking book for a kid or beginner baker please get them something that discusses the science of cooking/baking so they can understand why to do certain things and not do others. Anything by 'America's test kitchen/cooks' is beautiful, easy to follow and guaranteed to work.If you like internet personalities better Ann Reardon on YT 'How to cook that' is an amazing person, baker, cook and an actual food scientist and also has her own book.Alton brown and the show 'good eats' is how I initially learned to cook. Please don't waste your money, time, energy or ingredients on this nonsense book.

Recipe amount are inaccurate
I was so looking forward to this recipe book. I have tried about 4 or 5 recipes and all have inaccuracies in the amounts. Too much butter for a crust or too many cookies for bars. Wasting so many of the ingredients for a flop is so disappointing. I do like the easy recipes but just too many mistakes for so few ingredients in a recipe.

Brilliant easy to follow minimal ingredient recipes
Never heard of Fitwaffle before but I think this came up as a recommended book on Amazon, so I had a look. It was half price when I bought it and is well worth the money. The cooking tips (equipment to use, most-used ingredients, and the how to guides) are useful. The recipes are simple to follow. Some are no-bake recipes, others need a bit of baking. There are no lists of calories, etc. but to be honest you wouldn't be baking 99% of the recipes in the book if you were on a diet anyway!Already tried the 'Cookies and Cream Magic Bars' which was a 4-ingredient recipe with a bit of time in the oven. I initially thought I don't it wrong as my result after the allotted time didn't look anything like the description in the book but once it had cooled down it was amazing. Also did the Chocolate Malt Ball Rocky Road which again was a 4-ingredient recipe but then a bit of time in the fridge. They could be stored for up to 4 days in an airtight container. Ours lasted just over a day!Another plus to the recipes is their simplicity. Not only does this mean that children can get involved, all the ingredients are easy to come by and as well as there being suggested swaps for certain ingredients (white chocolate instead of milk chocolate for example), you can also experiment yourself without fear of ruining the end result - unless of course you have no clue what you're doing and attempt to use sprouts instead of Maltesers for example, in which case you should never be allowed in a kitchen ever again. All in all, a great recipe book.
