Growing up, my mom had clips like these lying around the house. When I was really young, I thought they looked cheap and tended to prefer stealing/“borrowing” her fancier-looking, often acetate, ones (usually the tortoise kind). To be fair, I still have a soft spot for those ones too. I’m in my 30s now, and tbh, I think the classiness holds up. But somewhere in my 20s, I was visiting home and just needed the first clip I could find. I saw ones of these types, grabbed it and tucked my hair into a sloppy, slightly lifted bind at the back of my head, checked it in the mirror, and was surprised how stylish it looked. It’s got a retro/nostalgic-for-simpler-times/90s-tshirt-and-jeans allure to it. And it worked super well, like better than the more expensive kind, holding my fine, curly hair up in a loose, effortlessly cute way (in my opinion. But also, I’ve gotten compliments on the look over the years).Now those ones were white and tan and black, and some of them were the same butterfly claw design but a thicker plastic or acetate, and those worked great too. Same with the ones with slightly rounder edges and a rounder/softer tail/gripper thing. These, of course, are purple and pink, and for this reason I don’t use them with quite such a range of outfits unless I’m going for a loud color pop, or it’s an especially casual look, or purely functional. I sometimes use these to section my hair, when I don’t feel like dealing with the heaviness or pull of a stronger clip; they work fine for that. And you can’t beat the price!Will keep an eye out for some similar ones in more neutral/interesting colors & patterns, but I love these! They’re fun, comfortable, lightweight, and work great. Highly recommend.

I have been looking for these clips everywhere! I used to use them in grade school and highschool but lost them and have not been able to them in any store until I came across them on Amazon. I ordered them right away they pack comes with plenty and is inexpensive. I love these clips they are so sturdy and I use them for everything from separating my hair when I'm blow-drying or straightning or curling my hair to using them in the shower when I'm deep conditioning my hair or using a hair mask, or dying my hair to keep the my hair up n off my back n shoulders so I don't get any dye on me and they are super sturdy so I don't have to worry about any hair falling out, I also use them out when I'm wearing my hair half up or if I'm out to keep my hair from getting frizzy when it's super hot out I'll grab my clip n just twist my hair up and clip it. I love that they never leave any dents or anything so if I want to put my hair back down hours later it's still straight with no dents or marks.

These arrived today and so far appear to be great! If they begin to snap apart and/or break I will definitely update this review!Two years ago my head was shaved to perform a craniotomy to clip a brain aneurysm and save my life.Fast forward to today... I’ve always had massively thick amount of extremely curly/kinky, SUPER FINE hair!!There have been several changes to my hair due to medications, starting from BALD👩‍🦲 😳🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ These changes have been color and texture. It DID NOT change the superfine frizzy nature of it unfortunately!!🥴Prior to these struggles I’ve used similar clips to section my hair that have snapped at first use.Now that my hair is barely to my chin (while I also have random chunks that go to below my shoulder...🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️) it is important that I section it out in an attempt to straighten it and make it appear that there is SOME TYPE of symmetry to this hot mess!🙄This evening I used these clips to section my hair and they worked great! Not a single one broke! Due to my “bipolar hair type” previous clips I’ve used have always had a large percentage break on the first attempt to use them. I was pleasantly AMAZED that not a single one did tonight!!If this changes the next time I use them, I will update this review!!Those of us with “crazy hair”have to look out for one another!!🤷🏻‍♀️🤣😂🤣😂
