The star drag is bending some branh of the star hit the spool tension when I reel.

It's just an smooth as you think and the dc sounds better than the other dcs that shimano makes if you have the money get it but if not look at there cheaper models its by far my favorite reel I have and I have a couple in this price range but this is the best of the best handles large fish like its nothing its my new go to reel. It's a bit larger than I like but that's my only problem. Smoothest reel I've ever had and handles big fish with no problems it's my best reel in my arsenal

I think it's safe to say that if you are looking at this item, you already have a pretty good idea of what this reel is, and what it can do. I would say that it is just as good as all the online professional reviewers say. I am not sure about the current move to "no adjust" spool tightners, but the dc control, and just the reel itself makes it surprisingly hard to backlash. It casts disturbingly far, without any hint of spool wobble even when casting out at full power. Buttery smooth, no play at all anywhere in the reel. It feels a bit heavier and sturdier than the metanium dc, so it does get a little tiring on the wrist at the end of the day. Otherwise a halo product from shimano.

I have lots of DC reels… Antares, scorpions, curados…. The metanium is the king!Does cast as far as the Antares, and may be not as far or smooth… but I find myself going to the Metanium if there’s any wind or I’m throwing a light set up…I don’t make money to be dropping $5-700 here and there… but if you want the best and don’t want the bait caster headaches… go with the metanium!

大口径スプールとは思えない程の立ち上がり！さすがのMGLⅢスプール！ヘビーロッドの撃ち巻きに使用してます。巻心地はそりゃアンタレスです。キャストは力まず素直にロッドを振れば気持ち良く飛んで行きます。小さくなったボディですが、剛性感はたっぷりとあります。ただそれでもデカイ！手の小さい私には。シマノのベイトリールは高さがある印象で、個人的にはダイワとアブのサイズ感の方が好きです。でもアンタレスDCですので。そういう物だと思ってます。
