Updated 10/2018,..after a year plus i am impressed!
Updated 10/19/2018 after more than a year if i could rate this higher than 5 stars i would. the battery is just as long lived as on day one. updates are automatic and regular, in fact i just had one go through yesterday. i have somewhere near 60 apps installed and never an issue with a one. in fact i haven't had anything, not even the most minor glitch since day one. this is by far the most reliable smartphone i have ever owned!Original review - i have had great success with previous motorola phones but haven't had one since Lenovo bought them out two years ago. that said it was time for a new phone so gave this version a try & after a few months use i can say this is a fantastic phone!the camera is the same found in the samsung s7. vids shot in 4k and look amazing on the phone's screen. the battery though not replaceable is a true powerhouse. on battery alone with limited use after 12 hours only down to 90%. if used just for calls you can get a few days on the stock battery before needing to charge up. related, i like the rapid charge mode too. the finger print scanner is fantastic. i have used others but none come close to how well this one functions. not to mention the additional functions you can enable with it. fyi you have the option to enable it or not. there are so many nice little things besides. example lay the phone face down and it will know you do not want to be disturbed, a simple easy silent mode. on the inside, the chip, its more than capable of handling anything i've thrown its way. i did add another class 10 micro sd card which was simple to install.in conclusion while not their flagship 'Z' model the G5+ still feels and functions like a higher end phone. no wonder all the online zine reviews rave over this newest version of the G.i wouldn't hesitate to have my family or friends buy this phone. my previous moto android phones the 1st gen Moto G & 2nd gen Moto X

Overall great budget phone, not expecting timely updates, Android 7.0/Quick Charging are neato
3.5 stars Overall a fantastic budget phone with great specs.Pros, nice aluminium back, moderately stock Android 7.0 and its an unlocked phone with a finger print sensor (which is something I missed using in Moto X Pure). The new OS has a nice snappy feel with new clickity sounds which is great.Wifi-Calling works on T-Mobile which is fantasticTurbo-charge is great, no more waiting around for a slow charger.I haven't taken pictures yet, and that's not really a priority for me.Some cons,From my past experience Lenovo/Motorola is absolute garbage at maintaining updates for phones, I think this phone is on the January patch 2017 (I need to check again). but my other Moto/Lenovo phone is about a year behind in security/OS updates. So timely updates were not a priority for buying this phone since its specs and budget price are pretty big incentives to buy.I probably would have preferred a removable battery, but that's wishful thinking these days. Also it's not all metal design, the back plate is of course, but the sides are plastic.Android/Google is really pushing their services on their phone (which is somewhat ironic since it's a "stock" OS). If you have no use for the Google App/Google Search/Google Assistant, you can disable it, but the annoying search bar will remain forever on your home screen. I don't know if this is disable-able but in the Settings I'd get (albeit some helpful) recommendations for phone/app usage, but that's not too bad of a problem I guess I'm just nitpicky.Edit: I forgot a few things! There's no NFC if that's a necessity for you. Battery life is pretty decent it lasts at least a day.OH another plus, there's a 3.5" audio jack. Cause you know. Headphones are important.

Unlocked, great size, great set of features at an affordable price.
So far this phone is great. Just sent back a Motorola Nexus 6, which was gigantic, and basically a heap of hardware. Brand new it was slower than the Moto G4 I was replacing. So I came back to the Moto G family and went with this model.Pros:Nice size, not too big, not too smallDisplay looks crisp. You can only fit so many pixels before your eye can't tell anymore.Unlocked. Duh. Way smarter to buy a phone outright and own it from the get go.Clean. No bloatware to speak of, aside from a few Moto specific apps that add functionality. Chop to activate light, roll twice to activate camera.SD card. The option to expand storage is a must IMO. Or pop in footage from an action camera for review.Camera takes nice pictures.Fingerprint is nice. Very snappy and responsive.Headphone jack is on the bottom, by charging jack. Great for in car with magnetic mount, cables both go same direction.Corning Gorilla Glass III - my previous Moto G4 is fine after 2+ years so I expect this one will be great as well.Add a nice TPU case from Diztronic and should be a winner for another 2+ years. Those are all the important things to me.

The camera is not good at all!
Moto G Plus (5th Generation) - Lunar Gray - 32 GB - Unlocked As a phone, the device works quite well. Coming from a Nexus 5 that just couldn't hold on anymore, the Moto 5G Plus is a step up in most respects. However, the camera is not good at all and, based on what the hardware is (which seems quite good), the problem seems to be software. Unfortunately, Lenovo is not known for responsibly timed updates, so I'm expecting that the problem either won't be addressed or will take quite awhile before it is fixed. The issue, in a word, is "focusing." Close, 20 feet, or 100 feet, everything looks slightly hazy; nothing is sharp. This has already been raised on the Lenovo forum and MANY people are calmly (and not so calmly) waiting for a software update. Personally, I'm not going to hold my breath. Unfortunate, because otherwise, it seems like a decent machine!

like all the LTE freq
Bought this from the Amazon Canada store (and it shipped from a Canada warehouse) with the understanding that as such it would be the North American XT1687 version that another reviewer said they received. But it was the XT1681 version that doesn't have the full range of radio frequencies for carriers here, like all the LTE freq. for Freedom Mobile. I am returning it.

Recomendable.

Excellent unlocked phone, good price, brand new as advertised
Exactly as advertised, brand new.Very good phone with more than enough oomph for all current and probably future Android apps.Works well with Koodo and LTE here in Canada, BC (Item model number 01110NARTL - US version (XT1687))Very good camera, very fast in every aspect (coming from a Samsung Galaxy S4), looks very good.Wife like overall speed and shake-for-flashlight best :)And, of course, the lightning fast fingerprint sensor. Now she can have her phone locked and unlock it in a second.Currently on Android 7, did not notice any issues, heard they update this to 8.1 soon, if we're lucky, all the bugs from 8.0 are fixed by then.File transfer (USB 2) is significantly faster than it was on the Samsung, I measured about 25MB/sec+ (writing) to the phone, made it easy to copy all her music and stuff back from the Samsung. And, as usual with Moto phone, no crapware, just pure Android. Love it.Seller packaged it well and shipped it quickly. Would buy again!

Excelente equipo

More than just value for money
It's been around 4 months since I've been using the phone. It's definitely more than just worth the money. No issues so far - fast charging, clean interface, quick updates and feels great in my hand. The camera quality is good but not great. The finger sensor feature is amazing and fast. Two cool things about this phone is gestures (double chop for flashlight, flip phone to open up camera) and other thing is using the hard button (fingerprint sensor at front) to remove the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen.
