Derby Dust Wheel Polish Kit for Pine Derby Wood Car

Kit works well, plenty of materials for multiple wheel sets.

Seems like a quality product. However, It would be very helpful if instructions were provided. I watched the on-line instructions and it showed two plastic containers, one polishing compound (tan colored) and the graphite lubricant (grey color), and how to use them. When I received the the polishing kit there were three containers, the first two as expected, but also an unexpected white compound. No information as to what this was nor how to use it. A reply from a query to derby dust stated that the white compound is another polish that should be used first and then followed by the tan polish. Then the graphite lubricant is to be applied. It must be emphasized that the polish must be applied at a very low speed or else the bore of the hub will over heat and be damaged. A Dremel rotary tool cannot maintain a low enough speed.

I've used this kit time and time again to help my son with his pinewood derby car. As everyone says the speed is in the wheels and this kit helps immensely. This year I made my son do his wheels with the kit and once again the axel bores came out perfect. He's taken 1st, 2nd, and 1st the past 3 years in our Pack. Make sure to do the axels as well as you can't forget to polish them as they are the key with the wheels to speed.

A little overpriced. But has hard to find qtip sizes. The kit should come with more imo
