I am one of those who bought this to balance fishing lures, esp suspending jerk baits. This putty lets you tune the lure to suspend perfectly. It makes a big difference in triggering strikes.The putty is good and soft, have not put it through a MN summer yet so will circle back if it turns out to be really runny. So far it molds well and sticks to the lures but the water is still in the 60s. If it survives a 90 deg day in July it will be my go to from here on. Last batch from a different vendor ran like wet paint in the heat.5 stars so far and super fast shipping. Tin is nice and will be re-used for something in the shop/tacklebox.

I bought this putty to pack into the handle of my Wilson Pro Staff racquets to make the balance more head light. As such, this review is focused on tennis application. I simply pinch off pieces, weigh them until I get the exact grams I need, then install. Packs easily under the butt cap and is much simpler to use than folded lead tape. It also does not cause vibrations, which can happen with loose weights under the cap. Gets pretty tacky in heat/humidity, so best to work with it in air conditioning. Once it's in the handle, not a problem.

Perfect for getting max weight and putting it towards rear of car to get your car to just the max weight.

I didn't buy it for the Pinewood derby. My Cub Scout uniform has long since not fit. Nor my son's. I use it fly fishing. Better for the environment than lead shot and easier to use. The putty also is better shot if your weight get's stuck between rocks. It will normally pull off or compress to pull through, where shot sticks and your break off tippet and fly. The putty doesn't kink your tippet either. It's also cheaper than the dinky amount your get that is "for fly fishing".Hint: Tear off several different size piece and roll into balls or football shaped balls in the cool of your home. Makes it easier when you get to the stream. Pop on on dunk it in the water and you are good to go.

Putty is easy to use, forgiving and efficient, much better than the pre-scored metal pieces, and infinitely adjustable. We were able to make a major adjustment to the car on the site of the weigh-in and then compensate with putty until we were precisely at the weight max. This was my first pinewood derby and I was stressing about, among other things, how to make last-minute weight adjustments if the car weighed a little heavy or light on race day. The putty allowed me to easily bring the weight of the car to exactly 5 ounces for our pack race since I had access to the scale prior to the race. More importantly, at the district race our car was 0.1 ounce heavy. No problem, I just scraped a little putty off and weighed in at 4.96 ounces.I will be buying this stuff every year. As others mentioned it is very sticky which makes it a little tricky to work with, but that's a good thing because the putty remained exactly in place on the car during the two-week interval between our pack race and the district races. It also stayed perfectly in place during the 12 or so races the car ran between the two events. Even left out for weeks the putty didn't harden at all and was just as easy to work with after that time as it was fresh out of its container.
