Back in the day, I used Gu a lot for long runs and marathons and found it very helpful. But now I run mostly as a sideline and rarely more than an hour. But I was on a ski lift in March and saw a person on the chair using Gu and during the 10 minute ride, engaged in a conversation. It turns out these work really well as a mid day energy boost on the slopes, and keeping them in a pocket keeps them from any freeze concerns. It was an easy way to get 100 calories at a very low cost, especially compared to on mountain prices.So when I got home, and got back into my rowing activity I found that a Gu before the workout, or in some cases during was a huge help and now I use them regularly. So the box of 24 here at basically a wholesale price has been a huge help. I keep them in my desk in the box and grab them whenever I need one.
