Best for upper grades
I teach 6th grade science. My students enjoy stories that have scientific content. When this book arrived, it was like Christmas! I think the stories are written for upper elementary/early middle school readers. The stories seem like they will be great to have on hand as enrichment for topics we study. My curriculum is physical science and there is a lot to choose from in this book. There are also stories for other scientific fields. Perhaps the best part is that there are about 3-4 stories with a focus on modern day scientists. That is a topic that is in every science teacher's curriculum. This was a good buy - definitely worth the price. I highly recommend!

Easy workbook
This workbook has proven to be a useful addition to our homeschooling routine. While it may not serve as a comprehensive science curriculum, it has its own unique strengths. One of the aspects that I liked was its suitability for independent work. The readings were interesting enough to keep my 5th grader engaged, and the questions were presented in a variety of formats, ensuring that he didn't get bored or overwhelmed. We complemented the lessons with videos from YTube.

homeschool perfection
My 4th and 6th grader do this workbook together. I love it! It is a great supplement to our homeschooling science. Each lesson is concise and they can typically find a bill nye video that semi corresponds with each lesson. I will be buy this again for my 1st graders when they get to the level.

Easy workbook for independent study of science
Just like the title says- read and understand science. I wasted money on 2 other science books this year before trying this one. I am glad I decided to give this book a whirl cause it was just what I was looking for. Many books I have and tried in the past are either all experiments or all reading and talking about science. My 9 yr old is a bit of a science nerd and has completed most simple experiments already so he is easily board with many of the hands on experiments offered to his age group and others are too advanced in my opinion. I prefer my child to learn and understand what he is doing in an experiment rather than just complete a task or page in a book and retain nothing in his head with out a reference. This book is easy to understand and follow along and target on for age and grade level in my opinion. Great for more independent readers and study unlike some science books and material we have used in the past.

Great book!!
Love the integration between science and ELA. Very good supplement to our homeschool curriculum. Was a nice "worksheet" addition to books and science projects that we did on the subjects.
