As an electrical contractor, we do quite a few generator back feed systems that require this product to make it safe and code compliant. The price is great, the quality is as good as the more expensive known products we've used, and they are designed in a way that they are easy to install and function perfectly. If you want to be ready for that next ice storm, get this and a generator convenience inlet box and a small generator. It doesn't take much to run a furnace and a couple lighting circuits. The season is coming!

Easy to install and fit my panel cover perfectly. Much cheaper on Amazon than I have found anywhere else. It is a pretty basic item but it’s made to keep everyone safe when using a portable generator during a power outage.

This kit was reasonably complete, and was easy to install. Therefore, it easily earns a 4 star minimum. It is well constructed, looks good, and is priced reasonably. So, we'll go ahead and give it 5 stars. However, I was on the fence, and would give it 4.5 due to the terseness of install instructions. One install note: The wire tie usage wasn't clearly explained (or really explained at all) in the provided instructions. The NEC requires breakers which are "pluggable" (not mechanically secured) as in most residential load centers in the USA, must be secondarily mechanically secured when used as a supply power as is the case with a generator backfeed breaker. See NEC 408.36D: "Plug-in-type overcurrent protection devices or plug-in type main lug assemblies that are backfed and used to terminate field-installed ungrounded supply conductors shall be secured in place by an additional fastener that trequires other than a pull to release the device from the mounting means on the panelboard." This is important information to ensure the user/installer understands the reason and requirement for securing the breaker to its horizontally adjacent neighbor; the purpose of the zip tie is to ensure that the breaker cannot be unplugged. If you secure the zip tie in a manner that the breaker can still be freely unplugged (e.g. connected to its vertically adjacent neighbor), then you have failed in the PURPOSE of the wire tie usage.

Did the Job great.

This disconnect fit perfectly in our Electrical panel. The parts a hifh quality and the install was a breeze. It came with its own drill bit which was really nice. Mark out the holes, drill them out and install the highly finished, quality made slide Interlock. Perfect!

Easy to install (if you have the skill set to do this). Instructions were easy to follow. Keeps us from back-feeding power to the mainlines. Decent quality. Just make sure you buy the interlock required for the box you have.
