The solar-quartz movement is reliable and can last a long time without any special maintenance. The quartz crystal is useful as in my experience the watch is a bit bulky and can bump into other objects. On the other hand, the bezel is stainless steel and not ceramic, so it has a few scuff marks. It's rated at 100 meters of water resistance, which is more than enough if you only take it to the pool or the beach, as it is a chronograph, it's important not to actuate the buttons underwater as it will lead to water damage.
