I originally bought this as a gift because I loved one that I had. When mine cracked, I bought another for myself. Actually much nicer than my original artist made one, this one is easier to use, better design for the butter to sit in, wider to scoop out and appears to keep the butter better. Its design is beautiful too, and comes in lovely color choices. Cleans beautifully. Definitely worth every penny.

I love this butter crock! It keeps the butter fresh and soft for spreading. Perfect. I was buying spreads because butter was so annoyingly difficult to spread on toast, etc., but with this crock, I can easily eat butter instead now, which I'm convinced is much healthier. The crock itself is beautiful, the same green color as the online picture.

Additionally, remembering to change the water every few days can be a hassle, and if forgotten, it may lead to mold or spoilage of the butter.However, if you don't mind the occasional dripping and make a habit of changing the water, preferably with filtered water to prevent any bacteria growth, then this butter crock is a worthwhile investment. While my boyfriend isn't a fan, I personally find it super cute and enjoy its functionality. Oh, another thing is pretty much the only way to get the butter in the bell firm enough is with your bare hands so be prepared to have butter hands now and then. 🙌🫶

This french crock is not only gorgeous and beautifully made, it keeps butter fresh as long a you keep a little water in the outer crock. I've not noticed water even evaporating at all. It holds one full stick of butter. Absolutely would recommend this over cold refrigerated butter all day every day.

Where have I been for so many years not knowing about this amazing French product that keeps and maintains butter, particularly salted soft and ready to use for 30 days! I’m always waiting for my stick of butter to get soft so I can use it for cooking and sautéing and of course buttering my beautiful breads. Got this right got this one right?! We had decided to stop using margarine but the challenge was, of course, keeping butter fresh but spreadable. I recalled reading about these butter keepers but was a bit sceptical that the butter could actually stay fresh tasting. It never hurts to try though so I ordered this L Tremain butter bell. Love the design - simple with a little flourish and the colour is perfect for my kitchen. As far as functionality goes, this is a time-tested solution and it absolutely works perfectly. We leave the butter bell on the counter even in the hottest weather and, as long as you refresh the cold water every couple of days, the butter stays fresh tasting and is soft enough to use even on fresh bread without tearing. We buy (unsalted) butter in the wrapped quarter stick format and one stick fills the crock perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this as a friend has one. No more butter that is too cold to spread or has melted all over the counter top. It did take a few attempts before the butter stopped falling in the water, you really need to be firm when filling it up. I think this will become a regular gift for my friends. Love it

Does the job, though as the butter is soft and useable now we go through it much faster so maybe a bigger pot would have been nice :)Holds a half packet of UK butter (125g) and does seem to keep it fresh. Looks good on the table too.
