Faith Countryman

Faith Countryman is not the typical type of novel I read. Don’t get me wrong. I love inspirational stories, but most novels don’t do much for me. In other words, they don’t leave me inspired -- they miss the mark. With Faith Countryman though, I felt moved, touched and inspired. Furthermore, I felt that miracles are still possible. That if you believe so strongly, without hesitation, then your faith can alter the trajectory of your life.With all the nastiness going on in our society, I needed a story that made me have hope. I listened to it on Audible and read it on Kindle on an on-going basis because I didn’t want it to stop once I was on a roll. In fact, there were a couple of times that I had to slow my car down because the emotions were too much for me to handle.I had a feeling about this book when I first heard about it. I’m thankful that I was guided toward a book that would give me hope again.In Him.

Meh. Could use some excitement. After reading a chapter it put me to sleep.

I read Faith Countryman and I say "Hallelujah Baby"! Faith Countryman has such strength, wit and humor and of course such strong faith in God . I loved all the characters ! The character of Vico Cicarrelli is so funny. That guy needs his own book! The story flowed so nicely . As I was reading I kept wondering how did the author make these characters seem so true to life !! Faith Countryman would be great fun for a book club. It was such a pleasure to read. If there was a Cross Creek in real life I would pack up and move there! I can't wait to see what the author's next book will be. I hope she reads this review and takes into consideration the idea of writing a book about Vico Cicarrelli! I've often heard that the problem with a good book is that you want to finish the book but you DON'T want to finish the book. That's how I felt about Faith Countryman!

I would have given this a 5 star rating, but I felt that it was somewhat disjointed. The characters were well developed and human down to the bone, but I felt yanked from one time to another. I appreciate the subject and loved Faith's commitment and concept of faith. I think all believers struggle with believing ALL that faith can do. Perhaps her next book will be about believing. It's impossible to have one without the other.

Faith Countryman was great read that hooked me in on the first page. Lori Hartman Gervasi's descriptive cast of characters were so interesting and I loved the setting of the book. It was such a positive and uplifting read on my recent vacation. I look forward to a second novel from the author as I really enjoyed her writing style and felt transported right into the story.
