Lovely turntable, let down by motor noise.
This is a lovely looking turntable, it has the classic Technics look, and the sound quality is excellent, especially with the supplied AT95E cartridge. BUT it has one major annoying flaw : The platter motor can be heard pulsating in between songs and in quiet parts of songs. Some people can probably live with this or not even notice it. But for me it’s very annoying. There are various videos on YouTube explaining how to put some dampening material under the platter base after unscrewing it to stop the motor transmitting the sound through to the tone arm.I would have quite happily paid more money for this turntable if the manufacturers took more care to prevent these types of design flaws. In the end you get what you pay for. It all depends how sensitive you are to this noise in quiet parts of recordings. If it’s not an issue for you then i would recommend it - it really is a beautiful machine apart from this one issue.

Deserves a metal case and maybe higher quality buttons - But still a timeless classic design
For me i have a certain design in memory for all products that will always be timeless classics and my goto product. And as this is pretty much a direct copy of the Technics 1200 turntable is exactly what i wanted, and it looks simply stunning in silver. It's just a shame that the main casing is plastic as it deserves better and i would have been happy to pay £50 more to have this and maybe metal buttons with a more premium touch.Still, at the price i paid for this turntable i am very happy with my purchase.Maybe Audio Technica should think about making a 'deluxe version' with metal parts as an addition to range with a higher price tag for those willing to spend a little more.

Great turntable with quality materials.
This turntable is brilliant. I bought this to replace my old one which was scratching my records and I couldn't be happier. The unit comes really well packaged and includes everything you need to get playing your music. The materials feel really well made and the slip mat is also really good quality. The turntable is really easy to set up out of the box with very clear instructions on how to do so. Once you have everything set up you have several ways of connecting it to other audio devices such as PC/Amplifier or sound bar. We set ours up in the living room connected to the sound bar for the TV and it's great. All the cables needed to connect the unit are included so we we're listening to our records in minutes.

So happy I bought this
I recently bought one of those cheap ION record players with speakers built in just to listen to my old vinyl again and with a view to transferring them to digital files. Made me remember why I bought the records in the first place and I started to hanker after a decent turntable. Someone had given me a decent amp and a set of speakers so, after looking at lots of recommended turntables I plumped for this one, and I am so glad that I did! It arrived brilliantly packaged, was an absolute doddle to set up (no more than 10 minutes) and I can't believe the quality for the price. The first thing that struck me was how heavy it is - it is certainly solidly built! As soon as I played the first record I was amazed at how many different instruments I could clearly hear. The tracking is perfect, as is the speed in both 33 and 45 rpm. The speed blocks on the platter (viewed with an in-built light) are extremely helpful. I haven't had to use the pop up light for placing the needle on the record but it is a good design thought. I can't imagine I will ever want to use the "reverse" function but I guess maybe DJ's would? I definitely recommend this turntable and would be amazed if you could get anything better for the same price (I paid £199).

Solid DJ turntable at a great price
I've got two of these rigged up with my mixer and they are top quality. Of course they are an OEM of the iconic technics decks and of course the technics decks are better quality. However, If you are messing around at home for fun and DJing at the odd house party then these are perfect for the job. In my opinion the difference in quality between this deck and the technics is marginal and, for my purposes, not worth the money. I DJ for fun and not for money - if its your job and you are playing vinyl and hammering it then perhaps you might want to look at something that is of a higher spec.I've had these a few years - bought the first one in 2015 to replace an old turntable from way back in the 90s and then, when my other old deck finally gave up bought a second one to have the matching pair. After a good few years of use I can still say that there is nothing to fault on these: the needles are good quality, the torque is fantastic and the the sound is great. For anyone who is a DJ note the point about torque - you will know that this is important when cueing up a record whilst mixing - and this cannot be faulted. There are a few good video reviews by DJ product reviewers on youtube if you want a really comprehensive take on the capability of these. This is more of a summary review to say that, four years on, these are still going strong despite having seen a fair bit of use for DJing (note - I don't really scratch so the only wear the needle is taking is during cueing and normal play). All in all a great product that I'm very happy with. If you want a like for like comparison at this price point then I've heard good things about Numark and Reloop decks that come in at a similar cost.
