Product works well and received as described. After cutting the cord to size and plugging in the new connectors, it takes time wiggling and adjusting the cord connections in order to obtain an adequate connection but it can be done.

I purchased this kit to run rope light under kitchen cabinets. The connectors are a bit of a pain to use and getting a good "connection" can be tricky. The biggest issue is the sudden outage of a length of lights! I had cut and wired a run of about 16 feet and tested it... everything was great. I turned it off and installed it, then retested it only to find that a stretch of 18 inches was no longer lit. What a waste! Very annoying to have to re-do. Be warned. In all, it serves the intended role, but don't be surprised if you have to throw out some and if you have some connectors (bad pins) that break and are worthless.

Its about the same as other rope lights. The cut marks were a little off.

Save the money and time and just buy this one the first time. The color is 2700k and being able to cut it at specific lengths is the best. We have them ran just under our gutters on the back of the house and garage for a nice even soft light all over the back yard. We also have them around the deck off our House boat. Since they are incandescent they work great with a dimmer so we can dim them for better sky viewing and even softer light. They also come with several extra cords so when you cut off a length you have more cords to make several different runs of rope lights.

These are a much better, classier look to outdoor lighting over the typical Christmas lights string. The fact you can cut the rope to your preference is huge. We had one of the five connectors not work right, though. (Only the first 18" lit up.) We purchased the black track to hide three sides of the light, and attached it to our outdoor balcony. The light is very nice, reflecting downward like theatre lighting. We are going to put another line of lights on the back wall on the floor near the rear of the balcony in a clear track to provide more ambient light. The rope light seems strong and the tracks really make the line of lights stay straight and in place. A great product! We are going to call the company regarding the problem with the connector. Perhaps we are doing something wrong when connecting it.

Great incandescent rope light, American Lighting is a great brand, quality products. A little tricky hooking it up but not rocket science.

My husband and I are a custom home general contractor who just completed a 300 s.f. addition to our own home and needed decent rope lighting to complete our ceiling. When we built the house 12 years ago, we just purchased whatever Home Depot had at the time which has held up very well except for a couple of areas in the kitchen. Knowing we would need about 75' for the new ceiling and an additional 40' or so for the kitchen, we figured this would be the best bet for the money.We cut the appropriate length of lighting and fed it through the grid for one full length rope that is plugged into a switched outlet in the ceiling hidden behind the crown moulding. It was very easy to work with and looks awesome!

It is What it is.... Doesn't last as long as 12 volt LED lights. Used it around the ceiling in our lani. Will revisit this review in 12 months. Right now 5 stars.
