Excellent in every way
This is probably one of the best buys I’ve ever done. The paper quality is outstanding. Prints are exquisite and beautiful. Properly indexed. Whenever you want to lighten your mood, just grab it and start from wherever you like. I got it one fourth of the original MRP. Really happy to share my excitement.

Superb two volume boxed set.
Huge compendium of The New Yorker Cartoons, beautifully printed in large format. Heavy paper & heavy volumes. The more one is familiar with Western & specially American Culture, the more can one enjoy the contents of this book set.

Great book & Seller
The compilation of The New Yorker cartoons is wonderful and all subjects and themes are included. The seller was also great as I never received the original order although USPS confirmed delivery. I contacted the seller and they immediately reshipped a new order. Excellent service and I recommend both the book and seller. Thank you!

Make some shelf space
The New Yorker is not a magazine I read very often, but the high quality of their single-panel cartoons is evident in social media posts, where they are often "republished" in an ad hoc fashion, with some of them almost becoming memes. This large two-volume collection is arranged by topic, and I am sure "list enthusiasts" like Umberto Eco would find the heterogeneous topic list itself hilarious. The collection draws upon many decades of archives (the magazine was established in 1925), but a large number are from our current century. Therefore I appreciate that the date and the cartoonist's name is mentioned at the bottom of each page, especially in those glimpses of a world that no longer exists. For example, jokes about technology get old very fast, and there is even a cartoon about that, where a dog complains about missing the old days when you could go on the internet and nobody knew you were a dog.I would warn buyers that the volumes themselves are large and heavy, presented in a smart red box. Due to the weight of the two tomes together, it's probably not a good idea to put this on a high shelf, unless you are hoping for someone to have an accident. They are substantial hard-backed "coffee table" books, rather than something you might bring on holiday. Good quality paper stock and printing lend a bit of a luxury feel to a medium which is generally rather ephemeral. But my main intention buying this item was to get a good laugh, and while a few of the cartoons don't quite hit my funny bone, The New Yorker Encyclopedia of Cartoons manages to generate giggles and/or guffaws on almost every page. No regrets.

El regalo perfecto!
A mi pareja le ha encantado. Encuadernación súper sólida. El lomo del libro tenía una pequeña marca, pero ha de ser por el viaje.
