great book - love the practical approach that makes it easy to build a program specific to my needs that I can fit in my schedule. I also like how he warns against certain machines (like pec deck) that really are unsafe. I've bought this book for several friends who express interest in weightlifting. Dont skip the first part where you find out what's wrong with you, its as helpful as it is enlightening!!

Great Book for Amateurs
I still use this book to this day. I learned a lot about one of the most neglected activities when working out: stretching. I also like the fact that there were several pictures and you could customize it to your body type.

I like this book
I thought this book was great. It's very helpful for the absolute beginner and it's a great refresher for experienced health enthusiasts. There's a lot of information in here to help motivate you, get you started, and keep you going.
