This is a great document, with contemporary quotes proving beyond doubt the influence of the Iroquois on the US Constitution.Pity the fathers of Confederation did not incorporate the parts dealing with the role of women: matrilinear inheritance of clan property, control of land, clan mother nominating chief, and being able to fire a non performing one upon 3 warnings, etc. No wonder their society worked!I guess this was probably too outrageous for the patriarchal Europeans. What a pity!
