Jim & Smoky are together again making another Ranger episode not to be missed.
Jeb Cummons & Ace Corby are delivering a load of goods from Abiline to Lubbock, Texas. They are also transporting a load of rifles for the army post. Up ahead they see dust on the horizon & not knowing if it's Indians or something else they are relieved to find it's an army patrol lead by Major Thaddous Saunders. After exchanging pleasantries Cummons & Corby continue on down the road. Unsuspectingly they are shot in the back as they proceed totally oblivious to the fact they have been bushwhacked by the very army patrol they were so relieved to see only moments before. The next target for Major Saunders will be the Throckmorton stage. It was carrying a load of $10,000 in gold. Two hours later a drifting cowboy comes upon the grizzly scene & discovers an old cowpuncher is still alive. Giving the old cowboy water the drifter only hears the last words that were said, "Army did..."There have been robberies from Abilene into the Panhandle with cattle rustling & horse theft mixed in. Texas Ranger Captain Trumbull decides this is a job for two of his best Rangers. That would be Jim Blawcyzk & Smoky McCue.Jim & Smoky will have to pull out their best detective skills to figure out this one & staying one step ahead of Major Saunders will not be easy.Highly recommend this Texas Ranger tale to anyone liking this type of venue.

Early Ranger store.
It is an older book when Charlie was eight. It was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. Everyone loves Rangers. Today a Ranger must be a Texas State Trooper first and compete for a position against other Troopers.

Panhandle Raiders
Another good Texas Ranger story. Jim Blawcyzk and Smoky McCue are fast on the trail of crooks who are robbing stage coaches and leaving no live witnesses. Jim and Smoke are to travel to North Central Texas and figure out where to start. An unusual story line. I give them 5 stars.!!
