Starman Compendium 2

This might be a slightly controversial opinion but I think the writing,in both vol 1 and 2, is far better than Watchmen,Kingdom Come and TDKR. James Robinson's reinvention of the Shade made him my favourite DC character bar non. I would happily buy a prose novel featuring him! The artwork is also first rate and the painted covers are a thing of beauty.

Bought for grandson who was extremely pleased with it. Arrived when stated, packaged well .

Very much comic for a small price to pay.

James Robinson's Starman series is one of my all time favorite books, and this second volume completes my omnibus collection. The artwork is excellent, the story is fantastic, and while its size makes the book unwieldy it is the most affordable way to get the complete story. I highly recommend this and Volume One for anyone who would like to read the series and have it in their collection.However, whomever fulfilled the order slapped a barcode inventory sticker right on the middle of the beautiful cover artwork, a label with a heavy adhesive. I was able to carefully remove it without tearing the cover, but there is still an adhesive smear dulling the otherwise glossy cover artwork. And again, right in the middle of the artwork. It's 2023 and there is zero reason a book company should be using adhesive labels like this directly on book covers. There are far less destructive labels on the market and other solutions available, and if I were buying this as a collector I would return it and demand a replacement. However I bought this as a reading copy so I'll put up with the irritation. I will be careful if I see SummitPark Prints listed for fulfillment in the future.
