Works Great as Hanging Planter for Ferns
I've now bought three of these for Boston ferns and other ferns that I put in a metal chain plant hanger. I hang them up in my porch. The water reservoir does a great job of keeping my fern hydrated in the summer. I only have to water my ferns every few days instead of multiple times a day in the summer. Spring and Fall, maybe once or twice every week or two. When it's time to bring it in for the winter, I just take the chain off and set it on my table inside as the bottom is flat enough for that. It is very nice looking and transfers well from outdoors to indoors.

Amazing pot for hanging plants

Very sleek - like slate or zinc - easy to drill holes
Impressed by the finish on this pot. My sister said it looks like slate, I thought it looked like expensive zinc planters. It's very light (important at this size) but very hard and sturdy.Despite how sturdy it is, it's incredibly easy to drill holes in this material. A drill with a large bit goes through the plastic like butter. It comes with a water reservoir in the bottom, but it's easy to twist out and remove. If you're planting succulents, you don't want them to sit in too much water so drain holes are a must. Happy planting!

Sleek and chic (and better than pictured)
I purchased two of these planters to repot my philodendron from the Novelty 9-inch hanging basket, and I must say, the product picture doesn't do it justice. This planter is so sleek and high quality in both appearance and materials. It is made of the same material as the other Novelty brand Napa bowl and hanging planters, but it's a bit thicker on the sides. It is still quite light-weight, but in-person it looks more like a $50/5lb chic zinc or galvanized steel planter with a charcoal finish. Needless to say, it looks fantastic, and appearance aside, it was a perfect size up from the 9-inch planters for repotting.

Perfect shallow pot
Totally love that it has a plug that can be removed so water does not gather for some plants and put the plug back in to create a reservoir. Got to get a few more in different sizes.

Return is Expensive
The bowl itself is fine. I needed to return it as it didn't work for the tabletop fountain I wanted to create. Bowl cost $16.00; Return cost $9.00. I decided to keep the bowl. I buy an Amazon membership so I have a hassle-free return for no charge. Amazon needs to remove sellers who do not offer free returns.

so much more expensive looking in person - it really does look like stone. Used it to plant a succulent - drilled holes in the bottom per other post, really easy to do, and now it looks great.
