The white wire is the speed signal output wiring to the speedometer's receiving wire.

**Q: If he wire colors on the gauges do not match the wire colors on the gps unit how do they connect?. my car has no ecu**
A: Hello,
The only wire needed to attach to the gauge would be the white one. Others would be like the diagram says, one black ground for the white, another black ground for the +12V ACC, and the red one is wiring to the +12V ACC.
