Q: Does this model have a polarity switch?

No. It doesn’t require one, as it is an expression pedal and not a voltage control (CV) pedal. It has no battery or power supply like the CV pedal does.

Q: Does this have a switch similar to a wah pedal?

No, it doesn't have a switch. Assuming you're wanting to use this with some kind of guitar processor, like a AxeFX XL II, AX8, Kemper, or Line 6 unit, this will let you control parameters like volume. Some of those processors, if not all, also have switchless capabilities. I use two of these pedals with my AX8 - one controls volume, while the other controls wah and whammy effects. I can set the wah and whammy effects to engage when the pedal moves so I don't need a traditional wah type switch to engage. I just start moving the pedal and the effect engages.

Q: Is this compatible with the boss katana amps?

The Mission Engineering EP-1 should work fine. Mission says it "can be used anywhere you would use a Roland EV-5" and Boss lists the Roland EV-5 as a compatible expression pedal for the Katana.
